I had slight doubts after the driver signings, before I realized I could just transfer Ricciardo from Silver Soul to BRT.

Still failed quite hard with Silver Soul once more :/

To be fair, the Ferrari engine got completely outdevelopped by all the player ones (despite the big upgrade from my research, kinda saw it coming).
We basically have 2 of the 3 slowest teams on the grid

Yet you still managed to snatch a win. True though, there's close to no chance to keep up with the development rate of a player manufactured engine. Also didn't help that I retired each time I had the chance on a halfway decent result, throwing away a good amount of sponsor money, which I would've used for engine development :/

No, the stewards just allowed everyone to race regardless. HRT in the first races of the season was the only time it was applied to make a point. Otherwise the stewards were happy to not apply it.

When conditions changed during a session, then they made exceptions. Else not.

I know they did it in Aus once, but that was fully dry (right?)
And yeah, I think the changing conditions was where I was confused
