@Aidan Keranen - That is the perfect conditions for your cars, it seems. Will you pray for rain in Japan? How much is your title chances?
Our chances? Zero. Miracles don't happen in this sport, only mistakes. We've made two amazingly big ones this season and BRT haven't, simple as that. And we don't expect that to change next race either. We'll just turn up in Japan and look to claim another amazing result in what has been by far our best season for a long time. Everything is just starting to work well.
In terms of this race just gone, obviously a fantastic result for our lead 2KF1 team. For Fernando to finally win a race in his career is superb, well deserving of the result. He's been in some strong teams with smart managers, so to have gone so long without a victory is astounding, I was worried that after Monaco that we may not have been the ones to help him achieve it, but the golden opportunity presented itself here. Ronnie was of course disappointed, but we'll be back to racing with no holds barred in Japan and I fully expect him to rise to the challenge.
And elsewhere, double retirements at KM was unfortunate, however points were scored by the team, we'll have a tough challenge in Japan with Marguar and we'll be fighting for the overall championship position. Some extra development in the Renault engine should be forthcoming and we're excited about the engine for next season from them, it's looking strong.
Quick shout out to our Aston Martin engine partners at Ram for a great race today. Good to see them pick up a pole and fastest lap, they've been happy with the engine from what we hear, and we're incredibly happy to be powering them to new heights too.
