RD Formula FG Championship Season 1

Final Release for Viper

If the GPGSL can be trusted in what they say, they may be starting on April the 1st (see what I mean). So we'd probably be within a week of that. So we'll say that all cars need to be sent in properly by the 29th March, but send them in ASAP so I can put them in, hopefully find any problems and rectify it.

RDFIA Press Release
First round of track voting has now closed, so without further ado here are the first three tracks to be added to the calendar, in no particular order (all 3 had 5 votes).

United States Grand Prix - Road America
So our first track is the massive road course in Wisconsin, Road America. Arguably one of the best tracks in the US, Road America is rather high speed, with two massive straights plus a glorious 3rd 'straighter section' on the run towards Canada Corner. The US Grand Prix moves from Indianapolis, who are still in the running for a race under a different name.

Turkish Grand Prix - Istanbul
New for Season 2, Istanbul will make its début in the series. Having run Formula 1 for 7 years, it is well equipped for the job at hand. Featuring a myriad of tricky corners, led by the infamous Turn 8, Istanbul by no means will be an easy round for the series.

Hungarian Grand Prix - Hungaroring
The third track is actually a returning fixture. Having been dropped from the automatic calendar during the off season, the Hungarian round found enough support to be reinstated for the season. Having had some interesting F1 races in recent years, not to mention the FFG race last season being a fantastic race, the circuit will hopefully be getting an upgrade during the off season.

Previously confirmed races: Australian GP (Albert Park), Canadian GP (Montreal), British GP (Silverstone), German GP (Hockenheimring), Belgian GP (Spa-Francorchamps), Italian GP (Monza), Japanese GP (Suzuka), Brazilian GP (Interlagos), French GP (TBA)

The final round of voting will now start, and finish at 2pm Friday AEDT. The format is much the same, but only 3 votes per team now. All previous votes are reset. In the case of multiple tracks being on the same amount of votes for acceptance, random.org will be used. If every team votes before the deadline closes, at the first opportunity I will close voting and give out results.

Pardon the dumb question, but why is Magny-Cours not automatically the French round? One of my favorites in the game.

If anything needs replacing, it's Suzuka and Monaco.

Monaco is already out, and Magny Cours can still be voted in, but I have decided on not giving it automatic status

but... but... why?

(I'm serious btw, why? I am two sided at having Monaco but why can't it be voted in at least?)

Because I am not going to waste two hours commentating it, then the 2GB worth of uploads. It will be once per calendar year, not for a season or two will it be re-added. That's why it can't get voted in

Imo Dijon would make a better place for the French GP. The s/f straight normally allows some good overtaking, while in Magny-Cours the AI often backs off when trying to pass going into Adelaide hairpin.
Suzuka mainly needs reduced AI errors. The cars getting stuck in the gravel in turn 1 is indeed a problem, but in newer versions most of that gravel is tarmac. The AI can continue when spinning off then, and only gets stuck when they spin off too far and touch the gravel. Hope you get what I mean, not sure if my formulation here is that good

@miki2000milos: Races as Monaco are extremely boring for the RD. I had the pleasure of running S3 R1 of the GPGNC at Oran Park, which saw not one single overtake in 1h of racing. Even you fast forwarded the GPTCC Monaco races, so you should get it ;)

New tyres are in the game right now, so if I could get some idea of which team is using what brand (Bridgestone, Michelin, Goodyear, Pirelli, Dunlop) that would be most appreciated. Can't remember if I have previously asked
