Sector3 Studios have shown off the upcoming 2020 spec DTM cars for the first time earlier today - giving players their first look at the newly re licensed series heading to the simulation in the very near future.

The DTM is set to return to RaceRoom Racing Experience for the first time since 2016 in the near future, following the surprise announcement that Sector3 Studios have rekindled their licence with the German championship for the 2020 (and possibly last?) recreation of the high speed tin top category.

Now featuring just Audi and BMW, the real world DTM is in something of a crisis as ITR and Gehard Berger struggle to overcome the recent losses of Mercedes, Aston Martin and soon to be Audi, but that hasn't stopped Sector3 Studios for bringing back this awesome category to RaceRoom Racing Experience - adding the 2020 Class-1 regulation Audi RS5 and BMW P48 turbo cars to the simulation.

The preview images from the studio haven't come with much in the way of additional information, other than the promising statement that players 'won't have to wait long' to drive the cars - so expect a release in the coming days!

RaceRoom Racing Experience is available now, exclusively to PC.

Want to join in some cool racing action online with other fans of the simulation? No worries, head over to the RaceRoom Racing Experience sub forum here at RaceDepartment and get your name down for one of our races!

I tried out the Audi in one of the competitions and failed miserably not completing one lap lol
Overall the car felt and sounded great until I went to any gear under 4th...I just kept spinning out coming out of slower corners with any bit of throttle, even 3rd gear was hard to put the power down.
Was using the default setup.

I seem to have lost the little road skills I had in the past yr...maybe I should just stick to fixed setup oval racing? Better yet, maybe I should just take up flight sims Lol

I tried the BMW at Monza yesterday and did ok. Little awkward exiting the chicanes, but nothing too difficult. I might try the other tracks later but, to be honest, the new DTMs are as I expected... nothing special for me. Audio was fantastic as usual, but to me the cars are pretty meh. I might buy one with a single livery just to run a club event or two, but I'm not interested in the full pack this time.

That was an interesting race too with the Rain pouring and then drying quickly, before pouring it down again!
Experience you cannot have in R3E. :(
ACC does it splendidly though, with visibly drying off line, and increasing grip.

Oh yeah, ACC is absolutely fantastic.

Until someone rams into you and sends you flying lol
How is that sim's fault, or you mean you can't setup AI properly (in that case it would be "something").
I have 10 times more contacts with R3E AI than in ACC.
But that took finding right pace (difficulty) and aggression.
