HIROSHI AWAZU ON TOP AGAIN
Top 3 failed miserably

Hiroshi Awazu almost flying around the wet Interlagos

It was one of the most boring races in a very long time, where Hiroshi Awazu took the lead at the start and just left everyone behind him in the Brazilian rain as he went on to win for the 2nd time this season. It's been only 3 races since his last win prior to today, but all those he's finished outside the top 10.

As noone expected the very sudden rain, the field just spred out all the way through and the only real battle ended up being between Jean-Francois Godin and Sebastien Levret who finished 12th and 13th. 2nd place was captured by Aidan Keranen who's missed the top 9 in the last 4 races, but when his Lotus teammate and championship leader Bradley Vanian only finished 10th, Keranen managed to keep Lotus' podium streak alive.

Alexander MacDonald finished 3rd keeping his top 4 run going, Chris Jenkins finished 4th and Omer Said finished 5th. Thomas Hackel finished in 6th place for the 3rd time this season while Danny Asbury finished 7th for the 3rd time.

In the standings Bradley Vanian pulled away by 1 more point to make the gap to James Chant in 2nd a total of 26 points. MacDonald climbed to 3rd and Awazu is now 4th. Then their is a 3-way tie for 5th between Erik Tveit, Omer Said and Danny Asbury, all standing at 76 points. Aidan Keranen is only 5 points behind them in 8th.

What's HOT!
The tight competition - Only 23 points is separating Alexander MacDonald in 3rd and David Carter in 11th.

What's NOT!
Top 3 prior to the Brazilian GP - Finished 10th, 11th and 8th which is much worse then what you come to expect from the top 3 drivers in a championship.

Now the teams and drivers will have to make the long trip to Germany and the Hockenheimring for the 10th race of the season. Let's see what Thomas Hackel and Zeynal Babacan can do at their home Grand Prix.
