Although the race was quite lonely today I am quite happy, my first podium in RD!

I made a terrible qualy (I was actually talking to the gf all the time), 3 seconds under my best time, so I started 7th (or 8th, no completely sure).

On R1, I was touched or touched somebody at the first turn (no complaint from my side), and got to be last, as usual. However, this time I had made all my practice with one thing in mind: "leave at least a tyre of margin at every corner". So, I knew almost everybody could make a lap faster than I, but I was confident that I would make many less mistakes lap after lap. QED, Bennet, then Blain Sr, Gavin and O'Malley kindly let me pass after some mishap or another. Around half race, I stabilized 4th, with around 15 seconds to 3rd and 15 seconds to 5th. I just kept going at it and maintained the place until the end. When I checked my times, I had made 10 out of 14 laps in the same second, and not 13 out of 14 because I cruised the last three. Very happy with myself.

R2, started mid pack, The top 3 of R1 stated on my back, but I knew my race was not against them. I preferred to be cautious, after T1 only Zelenka behind me and as he was getting to my side I let him pass clean. My plans were to keep the same level of consistency until the people in front would start falling. It worked, but for O'Malley, that held a couple seconds in front lap after lap.. until wops, mistake in T1 and I took his place. I was again in no man's land, about 20 seconds from next car either direction. Then I had my only mistake of the night, spun on the fast blind kink, but fortunately I could stay on track and kept going. That put Gavin within 12 seconds of me and around 6 laps to go. I reasoned that I could lose a good second per lap with him and still be in front, so I did not push extra. The difference went down to 10 seconds, next lap 9, then 8.2, then 7.8 and 3 laps to go. Meanwhile, Naebalov had crashed and I was 3rd! I don't know if Gavin made a little mistake or gave up on the chase, because the difference slowly started to grow again, and by then it was last lap, just had to cruise to the finish line and take my first podium.

Only thing I miss is that I did not have any chance of overtaking or wheel-to-wheel battling with anybody of my level (O'Malley or Gavin had a very similar pace and would have been awesome).

I never get this track right, no matter which car. Lone race 1 and surprisingly no mistakes. After race 2 started, my mother came from work and I couldn't focus because she was flickering through magazine so loud (!) and I did a mistake when I was behind M. Naebalov. Then he lost it too and quit so I was cruising alone again. Not only I need to buy new PC and I'm waiting for fanatec csw, but I also need a flat too. Simracing is expensive. :D
