My race went like this:
Rush into the server with 10 mins left in Quali. Never drive the car before but have many many laps here thru the years IRL and in game at least. I Q P18 ahead of 6 cars. I am happy for this result for now.
R1 I get a good start and beat Stefan in P16 to T1. T1 I go inside to avoid all the usual troubles on exit. also leaving spece here to see who gets bumped where and I can slide thru safely. Dietmar goes in the grass, Ivo is sliding to the right, yves already in the barrier at pit exit. I pass Bjorn and Dave F on the back straight after getting a killer run up the esses. P14 I lose the back under braking in the top of the boot and lose 3 spots back. P17 I get going and go into the toe of the boot and my ol pal John Sydenstricker gives me the square shunt and I go sideways and he ends up off track behind me. NO worries this is aone time event! I finish Lap 1 in 19th after Yves, Chris and Stefan all have run aground between 13 & 14.
L2 Carlos and Stefan are slow thru the esses and I pass them both inside to take P17 on the back straight. Steve palmer and Hugo have gone off at the top of the boot and I pass them for P15. Dietmar is in the grass at the heel of the boot and I assume P14 for now.
L3 nuno, Dave and Bjorn are very tight entering the esses. Nuno goes off line outside. Dave and bjorn are trying to stay moving at race speed. I fly up the esses and pass Nuno.
L4 Still chasing Dave and Bjorn and right on them both. Hugo has found speed and challenging me for P13. I brake early for the carousel and hugo flies deep outside past me. I hold the good line and accelerate off the corner and take P13 back. For one second until Hugo puts the nic einside slide job on me entering the top of the boot. Brilliant pass HUgo! I am P14. Bjorn and Stefan make conatc exiting T13 and I assume P13.
L5 I fly thru the esses again and get right back onto Hugo entering the carousel. Carlos is stopped inside with Ivo and I assume P12. I get passed by Stefan who stuffs it in nicely entering T13. He is slow exiting and I slide inside after I PANIC LIFT the throttle to not hit him and lose several spots. OH well.
L6 no position change
L7 I chase down and Pass NUNO for P15. I spin it a short while later and resume 18th with no front bumper. retire in 18th,.
I showed speed and race craft here but the soft rear tires were not a good choice! LOL
R2 I change to medium rear tires! Starting 18th again! I mustl ike this spot!
L1 Get a great start and pass 3 cars to be 15th at T1 and again holding way inside to avoid the troubkles I expect in front. And there it is! One car flipping high in the air to my left! one slding off to the rail on the inside by PIt exit. It is Steve P and he FLies into the air and lands right on my car! must be a bug cuz he wasn't going nealry that fast to fly up/out like that!
I have significant suspension damage and front bumper prolly beat in. Yp it looks like I rammed a tele pole straight on! top speed compromised and car pulling to the right constatntly. Oh JOY!
I am P16 chasing Stefan and Ivo. I pass Manuel who is slow on the inside exiting the toe of the boot. I am P15 now.
L2 Ivo spoins exiting T1 and I slide by nearly missing him. I am right on Stefan. No change
L3 Still holding off Manuel and he passes me entering the carousel. Hogo and Jarbas SPLIT me entering Carousel! Amazing! Hogo and Jarbas make contact after passing me and Hugo hits into the armco then shots out on trak and hits me solidly.
My race is done from here as the car is very difficult to drive and has no top speed at all. OH Well!
I finish the race P14 afetr other retire before the end.
Yves thanks for a great setup this week! really one of my favorite tracks and this new car is really excellent to drive! Select the Chicane ful course next time and this would be PERFECT!
