Once again, great racing guys. I did better then i expected. I initially had the toledo setup as my race car, its a shame i didnt get to use it. It was causing issues for some reason i hope i can figure out before the next race. I hopefully would have qualified much better with it. In practise i had gotten a mid 1.10 and was setting consist low 1.11's but alas it was not meant to be.

So come race day, 10 mins to 11 and having to start with a new car. Needless to say it didnt get it running well as was shown in the qualifying time :(

Race 1. started in 10th. Made some last blind tweaks to the car in warmup and crossed fingers. By some fluke i managed to get it right. Went from a qual time of 1:19 down to pretty consistant 1.10's to 1.11's. Got a great start and made up 1 position by the first turn. Managed to survive the first lap gitters to settle down for a reasonably steady race. Was more then happy to have finished in 7th place.

Race 2. After feeling chuffed to have finished 7th let alone finishing at all after qual attmept. I was feeling rather nervous to be starting in the middle of the grid. Lets just say this quickly turned to dread as i saw the chat msg's and read it was reverse grid :tremble:
Realising that put me in 2nd place, my highest position at any time in any race. Dread turned panic. Anyway once again got a great start and took 1st by the first corner and some how managed to pull out neally a 2 sec gap on 2nd place i tried to calm down. Well i clamed down abit much and started wandering all over the track. From this point 2nd place caught up and it was pretty much all over. Came off the track near the pit exit and copped abit of damage which was compound as i was T-bone once i got back on the track. The car was not handling the best at this point. I held on as long as i could before pitting which was a rather long one. Not much happened after that from memory but managed to finish in 7th again for my most successful raceday since i started.

Once again thanks for the great racing and thx RD.

Had fun tonight

Quali went ok managed P4 with a few mistakes

Race 1
Started a little slow lost 2 spots one to Yves then Rhys made a nice pass a little later. Settled down and made several clean laps close with Yves. I pitted first then a couple laps later Yves pitted. As he was exiting the pit back on the track I was closing up fast on the 6th gear straight and should have paid closer attention to my line than Yves as I went sideways hit the guard rail on both sides of the track. Came back on track still in 3rd but now 8 seconds down to Yves. Held off William to finish 3rd.

Race 2
Made a good start moving up on the inside then into the turn I was drifting toward the center from the inside and Will was moving toward the center from the outside and we met in the middle unfortunately. Not sure what happened at the time but saw this in the replay. Well next thing I knew I was getting knocked about like a pinball till I spun off the track. Lost my front splitter which explains the terrible push with the front end. Did my best to stay on pace was up to 5th after pit but William Caught me and we ended up trading back and forth after we each made silly mistakes. William got 5th in the end after we had a good battle with 2 damaged cars. Grats to Yves on a stellar performance. See you guys next Friday:skywalker:

I am not sure how important qualy will be here. In the next race I might stick with a ~10~15mins normal qualifiers.

Guys checkout the first post. I will have the live timings up for the entire race if anyone is interested to see what is going on!! ;)

You're right Eric it wont be too important, but qually gives an accurate idea of the limits of the car at maximum attack, so if you find yourself in a dodgy situation during the race at least you know what your ride can and can't do. Which should make you take appropriate action, either go in the run offs or be brave.

Practicing for the race, I know my car will be about 100Kg heavier so the tires, brakes and suspension might need to be adjusted slightly and other than that I have the same approach to qualy, cleanest lines possible without upsetting the tires too much. I know many here have a very different approach and some can argue that mine is backwards, but I've always done it this way and it's what I've become comfortable with.

That's why its important imo even when taking a setup from someone else to adjust it to your tailored wheel specs imediately (steering lock vs wheel rotation) and then adjust it after driving it to your liking. I say this since most of the setup I make are for qually, and I try not to change them too much.

While on the subject I was bored tonight and made setups for:
-Aston DBRS9
-BMW M3 GTR
-997 RSR
all uploaded online.

cu tomorrow.

After the start of the race everything went from bad to worse, had too pit after a few laps because my car was almost completly dead.... the pit took about 50 seconds so was already behind 1 lap. Lost the car again completly a few laps later and again had to pit for another big repair job. I hit the wall in the 4th or 5th corner and lost my left front wheel, but I wasn't about to give up on my first race so I made it back to the pits on 3 wheels, made some coffee for myself and let the pit crew repair my mini for the last time and finished the race dead last and only :) 5 laps behind the winner :woot2: ahhh well better luck next time I still had fun tho, hope to race you guys again soon.

Does anyone else think this sounds familiar? :becky:
Sounds like you are a Buxton in the making

He could indeed :D Bart, "your hired" :becky:

I'm just going through the replays to try and find some good battles etc and it turns out I qualified 19th and not 23rd...... I seriously need to lay off of the alcohol

Yeah I watched you very closely in your RacePro races and tried to beat you at your own game, thought I did pretty good
And for a nice replayyou could take a look at my first 3 or 4 laps you can learn how to get a mini on its roof......:becky:
