Slightly Mad Studios have dropped their first reveal trailer for Project CARS 3 - also confirming the game will be available on console and PC this summer.

With two and a half years having passed since Project CARS 2 hit the public stores back in September 2017, Slightly Mad Studios have undergone quite a bit of change, having teamed up with Codemasters and announced their Fast and Furious arcade racer.

Well, the team are back again this year it seems, with the third instalment of the Project CARS franchise due to drop in just a few short months.

Not much is known about the new game at this stage, however the announcement trailer and tweet do suggest maybe a more street car focus for the new title, which is an interesting change of direction from the first two instalments in the franchise.

Stay tuned for more information as and when it becomes available.

Project CARS 3 will release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC this summer.

Stay tuned for the upcoming Project CARS 3 sub forum here at RaceDepartment - a great place to discuss this interesting new title with fellow simulation fans.

Looks likes in the category of Shift, Grid and other alike games. Doesn't mean it will be a bad game but not what people are expecting for being in the Project Cars brand...

Well with them now being owned by codemasters wouldnt put it past them to now release 1 game a year and alternate between simcade and "sim" like they try to do with dirt rally :roflmao:

Just saw the gameplay

There's already gameplay. Man, am I disappointed.

All they had to do was build from what they had in Project CARS 2. It wasn't perfect but they could have picked up the pieces and tweaked and changed a few things.
Instead they completely changed the formula where now it's even more GRID (the 2019 one) than it is even Shift.

Thanks for the link, and agreed 100%.

I'll pass as well.

Oh dear .... no . I was an original backer for PC , involved early in the weekly builds etc ( made a nice return on investment as well ) and it’s horrible to see this franchise go from promising beginnings backwards to the Horizon clone this looks like . Oh well.... money is clearly in the mass market console generation .

Same here. From the sounds of the gameplay video all this game includes now is some road cars, hypercars and some gt cars which isnt very interesting sim market is way too saturated with gt cars at the moment. Massive shame. They had a descent base to start from after pcars2 but for some reason they've lost their way.

Pretty embarassing for them if Reiza can make a better game than they can with their own engine.

If you check the gameplay video someone posted here, this is actually NFS Shift 3 with the PCars brand... if you consider SMS's bad rep with the sim community, perhaps going in that direction may be a smarter move for them... If PCars is never going to be a true sim for most, then it's best to embrace the more arcade style to appeal to a broader audience.
