Slightly Mad Studios have dropped their first reveal trailer for Project CARS 3 - also confirming the game will be available on console and PC this summer.

With two and a half years having passed since Project CARS 2 hit the public stores back in September 2017, Slightly Mad Studios have undergone quite a bit of change, having teamed up with Codemasters and announced their Fast and Furious arcade racer.

Well, the team are back again this year it seems, with the third instalment of the Project CARS franchise due to drop in just a few short months.

Not much is known about the new game at this stage, however the announcement trailer and tweet do suggest maybe a more street car focus for the new title, which is an interesting change of direction from the first two instalments in the franchise.

Stay tuned for more information as and when it becomes available.

Project CARS 3 will release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC this summer.

Stay tuned for the upcoming Project CARS 3 sub forum here at RaceDepartment - a great place to discuss this interesting new title with fellow simulation fans.

I did not read all comments, I am just going to give my two cents.

I did not enjoy Project CARS 2, despite being hyped for it a lot, trying it a lot and giving it a lot of chances, because of the driving experience it provided me on my hardware and the graphical art style they chose with their tracks (on the same engine just compare it to Reiza's art style, which I prefer to it a lot - I describe Project CARS 2's art style as "dirty" or "busy", while Reiza's is "clean" in comparison, similar to GT Sport).

I was secretly optimistic after watching the trailer, but according to those gameplay videos it doesn't seem like I will be getting the game, unless they make a classic GT style career or something similar with a gazillion of cars and tracks. I will be following the news, but from a sim perspective I am a bit disappointed.

Despite being a simracer primarily I can enjoy arcade racers a lot, such as the Forza Horizon series. I don't really like it when games aim somewhere between, because it is usually neither enjoyable for me on a wheel, nor on a gamepad. We'll see where this one goes.

Well after having seen what the developers of the Madness engine failed to do with their own IP vs Reiza, this does not leave me warm or fuzzy. I'll wait for reviews and maybe BIG maybe a sale. Seeing PC2 is currently on serious discount after being overpriced for so long, it just makes me wonder... It's pretty though, but then so are all the PCars games.

Their Codemasters overlords influence seems very clear in the trailer. After Grid Autosport, I have no faith in their titles.

P.S: I also own PC1 and PC2. Long lasting bugs (e.g. clutch) and poor FFB, not fixed left me somewhat disillusioned. Hoping it will not be terrible, but fool me thrice? I'll wait it out and see where this goes.

I'm still giving it 1 % of hope, but it looks really bad.

If this is "acrade mode" with all the assists on and "arcade graphic settings" which can be turned off, then there still might be some hope...

The screenshots looks nice, but that beta gameplay looks terrible (even graphics seems worse to me than PC2) - I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I saw the car gently bumping into other ones and the rear spoiler just falls off.

I was hoping for roads / traffic, but it seems like closed circuits on roads, which are wide as motorway (same as Forza Horizon). I would really love to have at least some "simcade" driving on real open roads (something similar to DR2 Spain / Monaco), but I guess it's not meant to be any time soon (if ever).

I really liked PC2, and was looking forward to PC3, but not any more...

I wonder how much these comments about PC2 being thrash in "Sim community" affected this course of development. PC2 was nice sim with lot of problems, but was very good for me, especially when I was beginning with the hobby.
