in terms of club events nothing beats a good open wheel race for me, throwing some formula 3 cars around a nice track with some twisty corners is so much fun

I went to a BTCC race at Croft in the late 90s so probably saw this car race on this track.

Would therefore be rude not to have a go myself. Please sign me up.

(although I seem to remember someone having a very big crash during the race - might well have been a Primera involved - I'll try not to recreate it).

I assumed (without testing) that it was to avoid a pitstop being required (thirsty car, tank isn't huge).

Yeah it must be. I thought it was mandatory pitstop, but it isn't.
