The GT Legends Workshop team have released a substantial update to the legendary Power & Glory mod for GTR2.

Following a break of several years, a now considerably reduced GTLW team have been hard at work further refining and improving on this classic release, introducing a number of fixes to long standing issues and heavily improved physics to the Ford GT40 and Porsche 906 cars in game.

New users can directly install version 3.2 from scratch (assuming a vanilla install of GTR2 is installed) or updating from the previous version can be achieved via an updater.

Are you planning to try this new update to P&G? What's you favourite car combination to race in game? Leave your comments below!

I reinstalled HQ for GTR2 and PnG3 and now all is working!

I have found using the Steam no cd works better and Crew Chief for both GTRHQ and PnG3,it even gets rid of shimmering textures in the WSCC 1967 mod track ,LeMans.

Finally got HQ rocking!
since you are enjoying P&G, if you own H-Shifter, check out plugin H-Shifting settings, I think they are a huge add to P&G experience. In fact, AFAIK even stock GTR2 cars do not shift IRL the way they do in vanilla game. Plugin adds improved shifting for those 2003/2004 GT cars as well.

Yeah, while most things CC provides is personal preference, but texture flicker/shimmer fix is a real candy, GTR2 looks like a different game without flicker.

I found out that the WSCC 67 mod Monza track is broken in PnG 3 and HQ.

When driving a little way into the banked corner,my car stops and spins as do all the ai cars and there is a pileup.

Keep in mind that HQ Patch is a patch for original GTR2 and PnG3 content (and HQ 2005 season + PnG3 Butch team cars I have added as extra downloads) and that is all, I mean that all extra mods/tracks you can add will not be fixed by HQ Anniversary Patch so if you find a bug in a particular mod/track then ask to author of this particular mod/track to fix it.

Cars spinning can be either due to bad cars physics or bad track AIW : many mods on internet are like that as author releases something unfinished "as is" either because of lack of time or just because author does not know how to fix it.
I suggest you to stay at esport-racing as SiGi did take time to polish many mods by fixing things here and there (most mods published at eSR are not original ones but tweaked versions by SiGi).

Hi all, have a weird bug I need help with.

Was racing at Le Mans 67 in Ford GT40 MkII when i went off at high speeds and fell out of the map. Game hard froze my desktop and I had to Ctrl Alt Del my PC. I come back to PnG and find that none of the tachometer or speedometer (or any other dash equipment) needles work in any vehicle cockpit, they've all just seemed to disappear. Not sure what exactly caused the issue or how to resolve it, but any help is appreciated.

Are you running Crew Chief plugin? There are several things that could cause that.

Yes, I was using CrewChief with it at the time. I've tried just loading PnG without starting CC but to no avail.
So, there are couple of things to note:

* in order to avoid Alt+Tab issues, I recommend running windowed borderless (even DXVK team suggest that, smarter guys than me) Search for "borderless" in CrewChief.ini or even better, pass -ccvm-bless parameter to GTR2.

* try disabling memory optimizations in CrewChief.ini - they could cause tachometer issues, but I think in your particular case it might be due to the full screen mode.

* for falling off the world - did you enable the decoupled physics? If so, make sure vsync mode is enabled (see the plugin manual for details).

No luck. I have set it to run borderless in the CrewChief.ini (am not technically skilled enough to try messing with C++), disabled memory optimizations and enabled decoupled physics with vsync mode, but the needles are still missing.

to clarify - decoupled physics is optional, don't enable it if you don't need it (I only mentioned it because you said car flew off world, that can happen if decoupled physics is enabled, but vsync mode is off). Decoupled physics won't help with missing needles, sadly, no idea what it is - I suspect content issue.

Thank you for the help anyhow, I'm gonna keep looking online but I have yet to see someone with the same issue. I can still play, just with HUD in cockpit. If all else fails I may do a fresh re install of PnG but for now I'll survive as is.

When you say the needles disappeared, you mean the tach, speedometer ect needles are gone? Or they just dont work? (Still visable, just don't move)
If I remember correctly, there is a keyboard bind for that. I want to say it's the number 4 or 5? The numbers above "qwerty" not on the number pad.
I think there is one that freezes the dashboard gauges. It's been awhile since I fired that game up, but I am pretty sure there is one.

lol, we both said that at the same time...3 it is!
I feel very silly right now but I am thankful and glad that that did the trick. Thank you guys, I thought I had checked all the options I could but I hadnt checked the binds and didnt even realize their was a bind for that. Thank yall for saving me a headache and sorry the answer was so simple.

I always wondered why such a command exists in GTR2 and don't understand the meaning hidden behind ( if there's one !? :D )
Was this feature heavy for PCs at that time ? so that the reason was simply save GPU or CPU use ?
great you pointed it out Jempy, one more binding that can be reused for different things in the future ;) FWIW drawing needles unlikely was perf issue ever, but in order to draw motec game does quite a bit of work, especially the CPU. So, it might even cost 1.5FPS out of 358FPS :)

Well, you learn something new everyday - GTR2, the sim racing equivalent of sudoka. Man, who wants the boring new sims - an option to remove the gauges pins is hilarious - get why they did it to save FPS but still in 2023 that sounds bananas. GTR2 must have been a 30-40fps game in 2005, heavy and demanding I guess for pc specs back then

Hey.

First of all, congratulations for this magnificent mod and apologize for my bad English, I am a disorientated Spaniard using Google Translate.

Maybe it's a silly question that has already been addressed in the past or it's something I'm doing wrong, but I haven't been able to find an answer... I have noticed that the Corvette C2 Grand Sport (my favorite car, coincidentally. Bad luck.) has a tendency to turn left becoming very annoying to drive. I don't know if any file needs to be adjusted or any parameter changed in the garage... Wheels? Steer? It also happens to Lotus 7 Series 1 (this time to the right, which for a moment led me to think it could be the weight of the driver...) and I suspect it could happen to someone else.

It could be the PLR file, although I suppose that wouldn't make sense when there are cars that work as you would expect.

I hope you can help me, I would like to be able to enjoy this fantastic game. Thank you very much in advance. Incredible work, and you know it.

Hey again.

Does it happen to anyone else? I would like to know if it is my problem and I don't know what to do. I've looked through files and settings exhaustively and can't find anything. My brother, who I do some races with, seems to be having the same issue.

What could it be? He would greatly appreciate any help.

I'm sorry for the insistence...
