This typically happens when you use an old archiver version. Indeed, you must have an archiver version superior or equal to the version used to make an archive : UPDATE YOUR ARCHIVER !!!

i had a feeling i would be getting that answer as soon as i published that message.....i downloaded what was supposed to be the latest from the 7z site.....

..same 'ere - Chrome fails to download it on most attempts, with a "network error", but when it does appear to complete the download, it's full of CRC errors.

Seems to be happening with most of the DL's from this site..

Link worked eventually - probably a fault with my ISP, dunno..

Just gotta say tho; this is hands-down the best racing sim i've ever played - and i have most of the others - the physics, FFB, car & track quality are superb, both in look and feel. I used a mild SweetFX profile to boost the contrast and brightness, and add SMAA plus a little bloom, and you'd think it was a DX11 game.. but the quality of the driving experience is what matters, and this game takes you straight into the zone - the FFB really lets you feel how the suspension and chasis are working, what each cars limits and abilities are, and how to exploit them to best advantage. This is the most engrossing racing experience i've had since the Skippies at LRP in RF2. But with these gorgeous classic cars..

Have to agree with that! When V3.2 first came out we had quite a good little league going. That was the best online racing I ever did. The attention to detail and quality of this mod is second to none. I would have happily paid for a full release.

For me these cars are some of the finest ever raced and that era was such a great time period to go back to. GPL has that magic feeling about it and this mod has it too, as did GT Legends.

I would love to see some revived interest in P & G again. I stopped sim racing for some years and am now building a rig again. This will be the first sim I turn some laps in again that's for sure!! Alfa 1750 GTA was my favourite car. The best thing about P & G is the vintage spec tyres. You can really play with the cars on the limit in a way which modern rubber doesn't really allow.

Why don't you choose the ones without side mirror :roflmao::p

Anyway here is the fix for Elan 64054 : delete .TXT extension to get zip archive and extract in your PnG3

I'm also getting that data error using both the latest stable and alpha versions of 7-Zip. I used to use WinRAR and I don't remember having that problem with it, so that might work, but I'm not going to install it and I do not recommend installing WinRAR since 7-Zip is so much better. Instead, I just used one of the mirrors on the above site that had direct links to the files and that worked fine. The 3rd and 4th mirror's links to the .001 etc. files are broken, and the .003 file's link on the DrivingItalia mirror (shame to see what that site has become) seems infested with ads. The DF-Racing mirror worked though.

New member, first post! First of all, I am so pleased to be able to breath new life in to an old game! Great work. I am having an issue though! For some reason, no matter what car/track that I select - it always remembers my previous selection. So, I am currently stuck with Escort @ Donnington for the time being. I have also noticed that I cannot create a new profile within the game. Any ideas please?

Welcome to Racedepartment.
Try running the game as administrator. It might not be able to write to your player file. Where did you install PnG?

Many thanks, tried running as admin and it's now working. Absolutely convinced that I had already tried that but obviously not! FYI - I installed it in the default location of C:\Program Files (x86)\PnG3. Thanks again!
