Optimizing GTR2 on a lower end PC

I wonder if @sunalp2 has anything to say on this?

I think that the poly count of some cars can cause stutter, and also whether they have B, C, and D models with less detail.

Anyone else tried Windowed Bordeless Gaming? seemed to cure the annoying little stutters with a little tweaking to get rid of the remaining border.
