it looks already realy good for the verry first attemp keep it up

mabe pull the shell logo to the roof :) and spray the de valt logo on the sides too :)
on the front bumper you can rotated the logos a little bit. i think for the chevy it was
+/- 3 degree (depends on side of the car if you need + or -)
 
Hello,ive recently just started to get into the skinning worl of things now ive followed a tutorial for the Leon and it all turned out ok i decided to make a skin for the accord as it sone of my favourite cars and i stumble across and error.

the errorlog says:
Invalid parameter 'body' for car [Honda Accord]

Now 1 thing im having a hard time understanding is what i should name the cars in the .ini file this is my ini file for the accord as it is now with the error:

[[[Accord Blue]]]
[[Catlin]]
[Honda Accord]
body=Accord_Body.dds

Please tell me what i am doing wrong,its probably very obvious and im just tired and messing up here. Thanks in advance

Modell: Honda Accord 3ds model converted to c4d then converted to a PovRay script

That actually looks good for Cine 4. Only thoughts would be to alter the material for the body work.
I know it prity easy in Max but could be alot harder in Cine. But see if you can increase the refletive of the material and a Highten the Specular Level and glossiness.
 
the scene is build with c4d but the render was made with the old PovRay :D it takes over 5h to render with this fosile :)
but i will tomorrow check how it will look with the C4d render :D

p.s. while creating the pov script some things broken up like the shadows and the alpha chanel at the wipers
seems reflection on the windows are dubbled and the reflection on the body was skiped

may i have to invest some time in learning how to work with max till now i can load a scene and render it with it.
i dont get realy in grip with the material manager of 3ds as soon i have converted a modell to c4d
it starts to go somewhere :)
i would never be able to seperate the rear weels from the front weels like i did in c4d
the downfall on c4d is the render engien is way to accurate coz of the point to point ray
parts with lower poly count you can easyer spot as if you have rendered it with max
 
Could somebody explain how to get my models into max,Im a 3d designer and renderer id love to show some cars in my studio setup.

Heres a preview with somebodys s13 i rendered.

As a bit of fun does anyone fancy the challenge of 'skinning' my real Honda Accord racing car?

It's currently a blank black car and requires an eye catching design, obviously I can only provide a photo(s) so you'd be photoshopping a skin on to the car not a template.

I hope this doesn't contravene the rules, I thought it would be a break from the norm. :)

You want someone to make a skin for your car, so if we make it on a template, render it, you can see how to translate it to your real car?

Well my race car is the 98-03 shape Accord and not the 03-07 shape as seen in the current WTCC. So unfortunately we can't use the skin template in Race 07.

I guess this would lend more to 'photoshop' skills than skinning in the traditional sense.

What would be cool is if someone made a nice design I'd actually have it cut from vinyl and applied to the car - you'd see your work racing around for real, and on TV too! :D
