RBR Training Day plugin 2.5

Training Day plugin (Version 2.5) for RBR 1.02 SSE
=====================================================================

This plugin for Richard Burns Rally allows to configure and label a set of
stages along with weather, track, tyre, service and setup settings. Cars,
weather and track settings, tyres and setup files may be selected individually
for each stage.

Furthermore all built-in stages, rally school lessons and, if present,
reversed tracks, are pre-configured as hotlap rally and may be run
with different weather, track and tyre settings.
Time statistics include rally, weather and overall best times and are based on
every rally/hotlap which have been driven.

Setups maybe loaded, edited and saved by accessing the standard dialogs
directly from the plugin's menu.

Progress made during a rally including the car damage may be saved to
respectively loaded from a file at any time.

Car data and appearance of in-game messages can be configured in a
configuration file.

Replays may be saved after running each stage. The name of the replay will be
generated automatically.
After running a stage the replay can be viewed.

Car damage including the tyre wear and wheel damage is being preserved between
the stages. The car may be repaired in the service park. The number of
mechanics and their skill level may be configured for rally stages or chosen
individually for each hotlap stage.

RBR FixUp patch plugin 1.2

FixUp patch (Version 1.2) for RBR 1.02 SSE and RBRDLL v1.3
================================================== =

This patch plugin for Richard Burns Rally fixes some known problems in RBR,
removes a few limitations and enhances some dialogs.

I. Sound buffer fix
The internal sound buffer is too small to hold the sound data to be played,
e.g. front end music, service park music, pace note calls etc.
From time to time this buffer is filled with more data than initially
allocated so memory located right after this buffer gets corrupted.
Depending on which object or data is located in the corrupted memory region
more or less strange things may happen, e.g. crashes or freezes.

So, this is where the patch applies. It convinces RBR to use a bigger buffer,
large enough to hold the sound data.

II. RBRDLL pace note editor fix
The pace note editor has some hard-coded values checking the stage number.
So only stages having numbers in the standard RBR range could be edited.
Generally this should be no problem, but as RBRDLL does not handle the
out-of-range stages correctly (Message: Error loading pace notes...) there are
crashes when loading the next stage. Here an internally allocated buffer is
freed twice which may work from time to time but often leads to crashes.
This patch removes that limitation and as a result, the related crashes.

III. Setup slots and setup naming
The original RBR has a limit of 3 setup slots and restricts the name of a
setup to 10 characters.
This patch enhances the number of setup slots to 127 and allows for a setup
name to be 31 characters.
The dialogs to select or save a setup respectively have been enhanced to show
10 setups at once.

IV. Replay lists and replay naming
The original RBR limited the name of a replay to 13 characters.
This patch allows for the replay name to be entered when saving to be 31
characters in length.
The replay list dialog has been enhanced to show 20 replays at once, the name
column is much wider than before.

V. Service park
Due to an error in the implementation the 'Manager Advice' in the service park
didn't work as expected. Also the number of mechanics wasn't taken into
account properly. This patch fixes these problems.

Neither this nor any of the previous versions were designed to work with RSRBR. And never will be. Sorry about that, RSRBR is a huge patch by itself.

Please read this: "for RBR 1.02 SSE and RBRDLL v1.3". I can't see RS in this phrase.

BTW, the changelog is in the readme.

Yep, I saw that. However I've also done a little brute force test and the plugin seems to be able to cooperate with it, as RSRBR is simply a loader of additional content in spite of it's size (and pretty basic underneath :)). What I realized is that the plugin gets renamed when RSRBR is loading a stage (extension is changed from .dll to .no) - is it done by RSRBR, or is it somehow possible that this is a built-in fail-safe of the plugin?

All the features are working fantastically (especially improved setup handling is a big +). And I presume that the file having a "date modified" @13:37 isn't a coincidence, is it? :D

Copying tons of files for just changing one stage to tarmac mod appears to me very "basic" as well as the Visual Basic user interface extracting megabytes from password protected 7z archives. Maybe french philosophy.

You are right, RSRBR renames kind of unknown or unwanted plugins, e.g. FixUp, TrainingDay, to *.no, but I thought this was done only during installation. Actually I do not use RSRBR although I tested it out to investigate some of the features.
So, the "no" renaming feature is not part of FixUp. So maybe the french guys should think about letting other plugins exist in parallel.

Well, I do not know what's so special about 13:37. This definitely was by chance.

Dead Heart

Location: Sweden
Track Length: 2.5 km
Surface: 100% Snow - Road is often plowed after snowfall resulting in smooth ice when deegrees gets on the + side, the result is an ice surface covered in snow which makes it quite slippery!

Back when Moses wore short pants i decided to make a rally stage out of a gravel road located near my home, after watching rally sweden i decided to turn it into a snow road complete with snow banks just too see if it was all possible with btb, and yes it was! you will feel the snow banks sucking you in and making you loose alot of speed just like in the original stages of the game :)

The stage is very short and i did not intend to release it, but after seeing the fun results i decided to do so anyhow!

A longer version of the stage might come later on..
