Sorry guys, I had an incident and could not complete the race.

My son forgot a pizza in the oven and the fire alarm had my full intention :(
All windows are open now... the house is full of smoke, aargghhh.

CU at the next race
Michael
Heck! Glad you are ok though dude, that must have made you jump!

Was wondering what happened to you as I did not even see yellow flags behind.
Unfortunate incident, I now we would have had a good fight.
More chances to come, glad everyone is alright!

See you on the next one!

Race report:

My consistency with the Porsche was a bit touch and go after testing a few setups.

Knowing Rui's pace, I knew it was better to tuck behind and fend off Michael. I selected the setup a bit too early, so when I pressed drive, the tires were stone cold.
As I predicted, had a good scrap with Michael on the first lap.

As there was no direct fight, I lost concentration a couple of times and had a couple of spins (first time since Laguna Seca).
Everyone I lapped was on point. Was interesting lapping the GT4s, I tried to catch them in a way it would not mess up their race, as I had a buffer for mine. Hope I managed to do that!
Also had a slow puncture again for the second time in a row at Silverstone. Have to learn to keep away from those kerbs.

Happy with my progress at Silverstone, but it's still not one I'm comfortable on.

Warm welcome to all the new drivers, now check out the upcoming British GT series for more racing.
Thanks @SwannyUK for putting this on and @JohannS for organizing the liveries.
Congrats @vomvz and @Hazzatron19 on the wins!

So, I wanted to see how the VR experience was online. I'm not an ACC player, I saw I last played the sim in November 2022 before joining the server yesterday.. time flies.

The Alpine GT4 felt quite good, I tried the Mustang right before but that felt quite bland. So I just picked aggressive setup and went for it. I know tire pressures are important in ACC but I don't know how much it should be anyway, but it felt pretty good out of the box.

VR however is still miles off of what I am used to in AC mostly but also other sims. It's still quite blurry but also not very smooth.. especially when near cars, then it gets quite choppy. I sat through the race but it didn't feel quite good on the VR side.. that's a bummer.

I have always liked the physics and the depth of the sim in ACC. Although GT3's are not my favourite cars at all I would do a championship here or there but right now the VR experience is not good enough for me. So yeah, that's it I guess. Hoping AC2 does VR as it should! I hope I didn't wreck any GT3's race. The cars popped up into the low res mirrors quite late, I didn't have much situational awareness.

Thanks for the race yesterday.

Hi Laurent, I dont drive with VR but it would be interesting if the quality is better than with my Oculus Rift. Definitly not sharp enough. Which VR device are you using?

It won’t be, I’ve tried ACC with my headset and ACC is just ridiculously bad at it unfortunately

I mean it’s playable but it’s no where near the standard it should be

I wanted to ask if you often run such races for non-premium members because I can't take part in the race? so I mean in ACC and AC
In the ACC club we run non-premium now and then, the AC club run these events more often. It doesn't cost much to join premium, you get access to some great events and get to know the drivers on the grid :)
