AC Multiclass Audi TT/Mazda MX5 @ BrandsHatch, Wednesday 7th April 2021

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
@Mr Chip , the race starts @ 8.40pm UK time.
Guys, help me out here. The event starts at 18.00 UTC (that's UK time time isn't it?). Practice is 1h20. So qualify will start about 19.22 (with overtime). So the race will start at approximately 19.45 UTC (= UK time?).

UTC is 1 hour behind the current UK time. UTC is absolute (no daylight savings time), while UK is either in GMT (out of DST) or BST (in DST). The UK switches to and from DST at the same monotonic time as others in continental Europe moving to and from CET to CEST.

You're right that it's wrong. My fault. But the first is the central european time so:
  • Cars: Audi TT Cup/Mazda MX5 Cup
  • Track: Brands Hatch GP
  • 20.00 (18:00 UTC) | Practice (1 hour 20 minutes)
  • 21.20 (19:20 UTC) | Qualification (20 minutes)
  • 21.40 (19:40 UTC) | Race (40 minutes)
I will alter it right away.

:D Otherwise I would have had the strut (windshield frame? how do you call that?) blocking my vision and in the Mini I always had the feeling, my head is touching the ceiling :D

Yes that would make sense (to me!)

Perhaps if it said in future...
  • 20.00 CEST, 19.00 BST (18:00 UTC) | Practice (1 hour 20 minutes)
  • 21.20 CEST, 20.20 BST (19:20 UTC) | Qualification (20 minutes)
  • 21.40 CEST, 20.40 BST (19:40 UTC) | Race (40 minutes)
...it would cover most European bases and avoid having to do the maths? :)

Done! Thanks for this suggestion  !

Blame the Romans, they put the first roads here and the concept of travelling on the left had side of them :)

Well that argument doesn´t hold water for me ;)

I live in a ( former) heavily roman occupied landscape ( between Cologne and "the Ring",
I can reach roman ruins by MTB.

And still we Barbarians managed to overcome the roman usurpers and drive on the "right" :geek: side of the road :roflmao:

Ok,

small addendum to our race chat:

after reviewing the replay the Last of the Audi Racers is cleared of all charges.
Even three wide into Hawthorn hill he made it cleanly through without any contacts, a good pass
So his honor should never have been questioned.:(
I apologize !

My crash was an internal affair between Mazdas.

Great race, everyone!

I was a bit nervous going into this as it was my first multi-class event. These fears were extinguished after the first five minutes and got on just fine.

The T1 carnage wasn't as bad as I was anticipating and it led to me and @JamKart22 having a nice battle for a few laps. Overall, a rather lonely race but it was good practice in leaving space for overtakes and such.

@HF2000 I think this is brilliant and I'm looking forward to it being in the rotation for the Wednesday events.

This was so much fun, thanks for organizing this one! :) I think racing the mx5s and TTs together was great idea  Looking forward doing it again.

Being in the faster car in a multiclass race was a new experience for me. I hope I did okay on overtaking the MX5s. There was a couple of confusions where I probably could have done better but it felt alright overall.

Nice racing with you all, cya soon

@HF2000

If you are still looking for other cars to experiment with for mid-week races may I suggest the Ginetta GT5? I've been enjoying an RD member-created career in AC and a series utilizes the Ginetta and I think it would be a good fit.

I do not recall if this was a downloaded car and I'm not sure what the "rules" are about this and club races but if it is allowed it may be good fun. :)
