Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Not looking like I'll be taking part this week, attempted to join the server but have an error stating I'm missing cars "ks_abarth509_asseto_course" and "ks_mazda_mx5_cup". I have the track installed and believe both cars are just standard as the corresponding folders are in my AC directory, not sure what the issue is? :(
hover over join and hit ctrl+alt+g

Ahh thanks its now given me a message saying I need DLC Dream pack 3, is this correct?

Correct, you do. Steam sale is on so it's relatively cheap. The ultimate pack with all ks dlc is only 8 quid.

Managed to join with the appropriate content installed however this car is considerably nippier than the Abarth 500EsseEsse I've been practicing with the past couple of days. I wouldn't want to take part with such little time to get used to the car as I'll likely spend half the race in the barriers.

I think the Mazda is DLC

(can't be sure though, I was late to the Party and and bought the Ultimate Edition

MFG Carsten
Perfect. Cheers, I'll get downloading!
You also need the Japanese pack for the Mazda.
Next week we will have another beautiful track. The practice server for that will be up tomorrow so you have the whole week to get used to the car/track combo.

If you're new, you'd better take the Mazda then. It's much easier to drive.

Please , put me in a Mazda please. THKS.
Hi Leandro,

Sorry but you are too late for this event. Next week there will be another Mazda/Abarth race. It will be announced in a new thread tomorrow.
But before you can join, you have to upgrade your RD account to premium (see tab PREMIUM, 14,99 euro/year) as our events are for premium members only. See the news item Weekly Races for all our events.

And second you have to enter your real name in your RDaccount/account details in the field Real Name. It's for internal use only and it's one of our rules.

If you have done both, post again in the new thread and I will send you the password and other information.

It didn't really go to plan for me today. My headphones failed mid-race. I drove a few laps with no sound. (I don't recommend it :O_o:). I actually wanted to stop then, but when I stood next to the track for about 30 seconds and looked at my headphones to see what was going on, they worked again. I hope I didn't bother anyone on my catch up. If so, please let me know. I don't usually drive as aggressively as I do today.

Strange experience.

But great event as always.

Guys,

Thanks all for racing tonight, especially the Mazda gang behind me for the whole race.
I had a lot of fun (and a little frustration)!

On question on Discord: I set the overlay setting to large avatar and location top right, but the messages appear in small avatars and on the top left. I tried changing the location but it keeps top left. Any ideas?

Story of half my race summed up in half a lap

Work work work, make a huge lunge, get passed back immediately :rolleyes::D

Had some really great battles today with a spread of drivers. Sorry for that bump david! Either was a racing incident, or my fault, hope it didn't knock you off track too much. Great laps leading up to that

Oh and I never want to see Hans tail lights again :roflmao:

Fun race, at least a little more racing for me now. Fair pace in qualy, no pb but #6 I belief? Forgot to shift to 4th gear(!), so Raul pulled away easy, other following in his trail... Anyways, nice couple of corners trying to anticipate instead of trying to beat my PB

Took Paul out first lap, that was shame. Had to brake hard not to hit him in the very fast righthander on the way back, could kinda shoot past him left side, less control than I'd wanted at that point and enter next left hander out of control overpowering into left barrier, bumping out, making Paul spin... sorry man! And the entire field passing me. Again.

Back to last again, but quite a good pace, and invented a new game: Hunt down Gary, try to overtake, make mistake, fall back, hunt down Gary, try to overtake, make mistake, fall back, etc. Repeat that 4 times...

Later on some nice pace and less mistakes. In the end hunted down Paul again, he was racing with Tom, and I could close the gap. Paul showed us his tail lights and after that, I did some exciting laps with Tom, nice! Bummer we collided (I braked into the back of his car) 2-3 laps from home with blue flag for leaders at 15 secs, so had to let them by. I waited for Tom, but he quit, shame, was fun racing!

Anyways, still learning, pace ok, consistency growing, but slowly

Thank you Han! (hated the track at first, later on it kinda grew on me,)

I wondered why you disapeared from my realtime :(

That was a great race for me tonight! Started third (extremely close qualifying) and finished fourth, with a few short battles in between. I think it was my very first race here on RD where I did not make at least one big mistake (so it was quite the opposit of my yesterdays performance :cautious:)

Congrats to the podium, fantastic lap times, guys! Will watch the replay and try to find some time :D

Looking forward to the next event. Racing with you is awesome, folks!

Decent qualifying again, P8.

Got an OK start and moved left. I think I was hugging the left side when I was spun around from behind. Unfortunately my replay doesn't go far enough back so I couldn't check exactly what happened.

I lost a chunk of time and places and had to do my typical recovery drive.

Made a few mistakes pushing too hard but still finished just on the tail of the midfield pack fighting for p7 to p12, I think.

Good racing throughout. Congratulations to the podiums.

Well done to Raul in his first race with his DD wheelbase and to Dave for running consistently in the top 6 for much of the race.

Got pinged, no ones fault just one of those things, I was in a no win situation. Ease off the throttle and be Mazda’ed by all behind, keep my foot in and hope he does not pull to the left. Chose incorrectly, sorry to all I hit, nice of you to wait, it was easily 50% my fault for sticking the nose of the Abarth were it was not wanted, I was just a passenger.:O_o:
So now I was second to last, great battles for most of the race, a bit surprised that the Abarth was, “in the race”, reasonably competitive, certainly Hank had some great pace. My pace was just a constant and reasonably competitive one rather than fast lap times of Hank.
Once I had a gap it was then the usual Mazda and Abarth yo yo situation. Which meant I could hold the gap and not be too pressurised.
Great event Han, great turn out and top notch driving from all I came across. It was particularly difficult for the Mazdas when following an Abarth, some times the speed difference with the Mazdas superior cornering speed, high lighted by the sometimes massively under steering Abarth.:roflmao::roflmao:
