Playsport Games confirm GT racing will be coming to Motorsport Manager this February 22nd.

Motorsport Manager, the best selling racing management simulation focused on the world of top level F1 style open wheel racing is to receive a substantial update in the coming days, with several enhancements and expansions to the core game base - not least of which will be the inclusion of two new closed cockpit GT racing championships.

"The GT Pack brings a fresh and exciting challenge, expanding our world of motorsport to the thrilling environment of closed-wheel racing! Managers can fight it out in two series, the proving ground of the GT Challenger Series and the prestigious International GT Championship, with both championships populated with new teams, drivers and staff" said Playsport on the official MM Facebook page.
With the addition of GT racing - a long requested feature from many fans of the series, it will be interesting to see if Playsport look to expand the number of motorsport series further in future updates. With Motorsport Manager offering a very solid base software, this latest DLC may prove to be the first of many new and exciting motorsport forms due to be added to the game.

Additional to the GT Challenger and International GT Championships, fans will also be looking forward to receiving some further good news come release day. Due to be added as a free DLC, Playsport have developed a 'Create your own team' feature, where players can create your own brand new team from scratch and build up your infrastructure and resources as you look to take on the established names within your chosen series. In my opinion this is a very good move by the developers and is sure to be an exceptionally popular addition to the title.

"The player will be able to customise their team colours, name, logo and uniform. The update gives the player greater control by allowing them to create and personalise their very own team, and to be their own chairman" said Playsport of the new create your own team feature.
It is not known at this time if the team creation feature will be available across all disciplines of racing within Motorsport Manager, or if the new functionality will be limited to just the original open wheel content.

As well as the two new DLC packages coming to the game players can also look forward to a hefty update to the main software itself, bringing the build up to version 1.3 and addressing a number of areas of the simulation. No details have officially been revealed by the developers as to what build 1.3 will contain, however having seen a leaked changelog online already it looks like it will be a rather sizeable update indeed...

In other Motorsport Manager related news the developers have confirmed a new boxed version of the title, including all DLC released to date, will hit store shelves on Friday 22nd March. The boxed release will be available in the UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, Nordics, Australia, Poland, Hungary and Benelux.

The Motorsport Manager GT Series will be available as additional DLC content on Wednesday 22nd February and will retail for £5.99/$7.99/€7.99

where all begins and maybe ends...

Happy waiting fellas :)

I gave the new updates and dlc a go tonight.
There is plenty of nice new features and updates like the ers and refuelling during the gt races, But it's a disappointment that you cant design you're own car from scratch like selecting the engine manufacturer, fuel supplier, brake supplier and so on.
You should be able to build you're car and team by buying you're own drivers and staff.
Instead we are left with a car way behind development and very poor staff.
Same goes for the gt cars, it be also nice to be able to choose the car model aswell.

Hopefully they can do something, at the minute for me it's not worth creating your own team.
But still plenty of fun to have with the update :)

create your own team is great... esp. for us, who likes to start career at the bottom :) ...now i only need Enzoli to wait for few other 2017 cars.... and i´m good to go. :p
ah.... waiting for first comments on GT series before i buy dlc.... anyone tryed allready?

I love the GT cars, but then again I prefer closed wheel over open wheel racing.

The GT racing is significantly closer than the open wheel. So little mistakes in the pits cost you a lot more. The ERS functionality is good - it forces you to pay more attention in the races, which is nice. You can set it to auto, but I prefer doing it manually for maximum effect. The 3 stage qualifying it uses is nice too. If you own the GT DLC, you can vote in ERS and 3 stage qualifying into the open wheel series too. There are only 2 tiers in the GT series. Budgets are significantly lower too, so money is harder to work with.

Although I love the GT DLC, I'd change it quite significantly. I'd introduce 3 or 4 car models, and limit development of the cars more. Then at the end of the year you buy a customer car (like in GT3) for the next year. I'd also add more cars to the grid (30 in total) and split them into 2 classes. Class racing is a huge part of sportscar racing, and it's a shame we don't have it. These changes would make GT racing feel significantly different to open wheel, like real life.

In the long term, I'd love to see Prototypes (which could share the grid with the GTs), and 2 more single seater DLCs - a Formula Ford level for below the European Series, and an all Electric series. I'm not a fan or Formule E, but the more awesome stuff in this game the better. Why not some touring cars too? Cheap and cheerful racing! And I'd happily buy all of these as DLC! (I hope a dev is reading that! Develop these and take my money! :D)

My thoughts exactly Akra. I purchased the DLC last night and only got a chance to create my team and race the first race before sleep overtook me. It seems a little harder than open wheel. Had a hard time with ballast and deciding my fuel strategy between the two teams.

Different classes and an endurance series would heavily appeal to me. I'm guessing it's a licensing thing, which is unfortunate.
