Modding Requests Thread

Okay, I understand. Well, perhaps PM me then? Or also against the rules? ;-)
Against the rules. because the .exe is very helpful for people who want to play the game illegally... its simply not allowed to share these files (if i remmeber correctly)

---

Not that i want to say that you want to do that. its just against the rules, sorry

About legal or illegal: all those mod files on RD are legal? Is it legal to edit the original files of the Codemasters games and share it on RD? Not giving any kind of credits to the game makers? Just don't give me that "Bittorrent is illegal too" crap. Your profile picture is illegal too. Did you get permission to use that photo? Just leave me alone, I know what I'm doing :)

Generally all original vanilla game files are not permitted to be uploaded as they can be got through steam if you have a genuine copy of the game. I understand that you want a pre-patched version of a file which you may not be able to obtain any longer, but that still doesn't detract from the point. Even a pre patched .exe file could be of use to someone that may not be running genuine software as they may not have a patched game, and may have mucked up their .exe somehow and is looking for a replacement.

It's also unlikely that anyone would actually still have a pre-patched .exe file that is legal, as the game generally updates when needed. Mods taken from original game files and not from a previously modded file are normally are fine, you normally wouldn't credit a software house, as it would be pretty obvious what the modded game file is intended to be used with a particular game when placed in the correct forum mod section.

I made my profile pic manually in Photoshop. It is based on a forum game I am a part of.

But we have seen many people here getting banned because of piracy, I don't know why should you be an exception.

I think @ML2166 sums it up nicely.

Everyone here is likely to only have the latest .exe of the game, because we have ALL got a genuine copy of the game, haven't we? (Please post below if you haven't :coffee:)

So due to the patching process via Steam, we're unlikely to have older versions to examine even if we wanted to.

We don't allow links to any illegally uploaded game files, or torrent files that allow you to get those files, unless the links are posted by the publisher.

However, wanting to examine an older .exe is not illegal act as far as I know, and doesn't automatically make anyone a pirate. I would also say that it is a complete myth to call Bittorrent illegal, it's just a transfer protocol. Like every other type of transfer, it's what you are transferring that may or may not be legal :)

When in time trial, is it possible to select and apply a saved car setup without going through the menu motions in the garage?

I often hot seat the game with multiple drivers, and it would be awesome if each driver could just hit a button and a macro or something is executed and that persons car setup is selected and applied to the car.

You have a save/load option where you make your setups :D

maybe people don't feel motivated creating helmets for a driver who has a different helmet each race :D

Well I was hoping for just the helmet he started the season with, but I guess I will have to do it.
I have done a few before, call me lazy if you will but I have other projects ongoing and its just a matter of having the time!

Yes, which requires an RTG and the awkward release back to the track via CM's jerky auto-pilot. Is it possible to load in a setup with the car still on track? I've got a lovely DSD button box and would like to use more buttons for F1.
You can't change the car on-track in real F1, why should it be allowed in the game?
