rFactor 2 have revealed the next new car of the upcoming #rfchallengers DLC - the world exclusive sim racing debut of the brand new McLaren 720S GT3!

Confirmed as coming to the sim alongside the Porsche 911 GT3 R, BMW M6, Audi R8 LMS and one as yet unannounced licence, the confirmation today by Studio 397 of the impending release of the McLaren 720S GT3 is something of a coup for the studio - beating Assetto Corsa Competizione out the blocks as the first racing simulation to feature the latest, and potentially greatest, GT racing car from the formidable McLaren Automotive organisation.

With this latest announcement we now have four of the upcoming five car pack confirmed, leaving just a little bit of room for speculation as to the final model will be before we get our hands on the cars within the sim ourselves - I can't wait!

Cars, cars, even more cars, what about the new UI? RF2 is a great sim but it will never be popular if there's no effort to make it easier to use. :)

It is very frustrating to use in it's current state. Great sim that I use often and pretty much my favorite. I look forward to a more, easier way to also edit the "Packages" .MAS route to do it presently.

And I wonder if the old GT3 pack(and the other s397 cars) will get the shader update too. I guess(and hope) the reiza pack is delayed so much, because of the implementation of upcoming new shaders. Maybe Sebring and the new reiza tracks will also benefit from the new shaders. Or is it for cars only?
The way I understood it from the Simracing Expo reveal was that they intend for the older cars to use the new shaders as well. And I believe it was said that car shaders come first and then track shaders will follow.

I don't see the Nissan as a choice. (nor sadly the NSX) The 4 cars listed so far are all European based and raced. Sure the GT3;s cover the globe now, but I suspect S397 has been building bridges with local brands near their home-base in Denmark. So England & Germany cover the first 4 cars. I bet a-lot of these deals were made at the Sim-Expo last summer. Anyone know of other manufactures who were there??? If my theory is correct, it won't be cars that race mainly in the USA, or Aussieland. AC has a new 488(I THINK it was AC) so it probably won't be Ferrari.
What does that leave us? Aston, Bentley, Lambo-ghini, Jag???
What about the Glickenhaus? It races at the Nordscheife and that is the next 'big' deal for rF2. Is the Glick GT3?

They're working on it and it's not the same people that's working on the cars so this doesn't affect the development of the UI in any way.
Not trying to be rude, but they already said the target for the UI is Q1 2019 so it's kinda pointless to ask about it in December or even January.

Isn't Studio397 based in the Netherlands?

The Studio is officially based in the Netherlands, that is correct. In fact we will be moving into new offices end of January. However, our team, currently a little of 30 big, lives and works in all kinds of different countries, so I would rather see us as a global company as we very much work in a distributed way. I sometimes make the joke that "we never sleep" and with people in most major timezones that is probably true. ;)

Our upcoming roadmap will offer a lot more detail about this process, but for sure the current GT3 pack and the other cars we did will get these material updates. In the upcoming months we will go through a transition where we will not just do cars, but also tracks. Nordschleife is already being built with the new materials from the start and other tracks will follow.

What is current GT3 pack ? Does this mean the cars that are already out or the ones in this article ? and by chance does this mean GTE cars also in the first round of updates to new shaders ?
