AC Lotus 49 & Ferrari 312/67 @ Monza 66 - Tue 22th Aug 2023

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
+1 Alfa GTAm vs Ford escort

That Alfa around fat Alfie tracks and others like it is a blast.

Theres also been a couple 1960/70s Daytona track mods posted recently (no bus stop). Haven't tried the stand alone one yet since the update (another adds a layout to the reboot team Daytona, not on RD), but that could be fun with the ford GT40 vs Ferrari 330 p4 a la the "Ford v Ferrari" movie before they go off to Le Mans

All three cars are a handfull and impossible to drive without a good setup which can only be achieved with trial and error. Other drivers setups for these cars do not work well as they are like shoes and only fit a few people. Its a personal thing for sure. I like Fonteny but think it will be hard to set a timed lap with the more powerful cars and it will be a race of trying to stay on track. Personally, i like the 25 and have invested heavily in setting it up to my liking so i am bias of course but all of them are fine with me. Porknose is also viable and so is the 60s Formula Ford. Did you try that setup Colin?

It would be nice to get larger grids and if the 25 is proving a turn off for some then I'm open to other cars.

I'll give the tin tops a go and also have a go in the formula ford.

I'll run a Fat-Alfie championship in parallel with Han soon so it would be good to nail down a popular car combo that's fun to drive and not so difficult that it puts people off.

Shame we can't use Bazza's 67 F1 mod with a complete grid of cars but it is what it is i guess. I do believe the 60s Matra F2 and F3 mod is available to us and they drive nice

Thank you again! This was my 4th online race and I made it over the finish line with no fuel in neutral gear!
You did great man. These were really difficult cars. Sorry for the crash, I was struggling with a full tank and lost control. Hope didn't mess you up too much!

Returned home late with qualy already running. I wondered if I should actually join as I had zero practice but this combo is just too classic to miss although not having driven both cars a lot in AC.
Glad I joined as I had an entertaining race with Ernie as we had about similar pace, so it was motivating to push as he was close behind for nearly the first half. Unfortunately overbraked to parabolica and spun and he couldnt avoid me so we switched position. Followed close til nearly the end but he was too constant but thx Ernie for giving me an entertaining race, if I had no competition I hardly would have made the hour as nearly 30 degrees in the room and several mosquitos were wracking me.
Have to try the Lotus to see the difference in lap time.

Thx for organizing and all for racing, that brought back some grand prix legends vibes.

cu next time

Yes I agree Thomas if it had not been for you I would have given up. It would have been a lonely race. After the first few corners the lotus’s were all but gone from sight:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:
I never realised how much quicker the lotus was, I knew it was faster, but as Allan said, maybe the circuit exaggerated it.:)

Why not a single brand championship with the Escort instead? We had one with the Alfa a while ago... ;)
I wasn't suggesting a multiclass championship but a monoclass with those two types if they have similar performance. The participants will have a choice of the car they prefer.
