I'm just confused about this being a UK-wide ban. Why not just leave it up to the independent tracks? If they want to ban laserscanning, fine, it's their call. But why ban it at all British tracks?
tHE GORVENAMENT is afraid to people know the real measurements of the places and roads ... wiitch their maps are totally inaccurate .That what they fear most ... totally ridiculous this !
No way, sim racing is not THAT popular, most governments could care less if these magnificent circuits deteriorate. But I'm relieved nonetheless. Although I'm not from the UK, classic tracks like Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Donnington Park and Oulton Park would be missed severely, and it's not above politicians to make such ludicrous laws.
Laser scanning is a hoax, and the process is actually done by creating a plaster mold of the circuit, by covering every square inch of tarmac, then a 1:1 replica of the circuit is made out of silicone and brought to the studio and replicated in Blender by one person. RIP.
(Maybe that's how ISI makes their content, that would explain a lot)
