manu68 updated Jops 2018 - Remembering Nick Milton with a new update entry:

Version V 0.9.1

Assetto Corsa
Jops V.0.5 ; initial release
Jops V.0.7 :
- New preview and outline maps from Jody Parks
- Camera set from Jody Parks
- Bug with curbs left/right side of the track fixed
Jops V.0.9 :
- New AI and camera set from Jody Parks . Many thanks to him for his precious contribution
The AI can now be considered as functional. It is possible to race with an entire field of 24 GTcars (or other cars), without having to deal
with massive crash at some point of the track. Together with a nice...

Hello manu68! Could you please explain, in summary, how you fixed the pitlane issue? Did you fix within Blender, or within the KSEditor? I spent a lot of time trying to figure it out myself and would like to learn wherever I can. Thank you!

I renamed in 3Dsimed the object and material name in something totally different as the ones for the main track. It has worked immediately.

I could test myself the version with the resized muntains in the background. It looks better to me. What do you think ??

manu68 updated Jops 2018 - Remembering Nick Milton with a new update entry:

Version V 0.9.8

Jops V.0.9.8
- Collision with objects ; beware of the trees !
In order to have a nice race experience ,which is the goal after all, I decided to let some trees "transparent".
- Big Work (at least working hours !) on the Shaders (Type, parameters). I hope you will like the track as it is now. I worked on trees, road, objects, light intensity, ...It should be a better compromise now.
It is a very difficult task, because I dont really have knowledge on what each parameter really do, and how the...

Hi everybody.

I am happy to see that some of us have downloaded the last version.
Thanks for that !
I have some more ideas and observations about things which could be improved, but I am currently limited both from time and knowledges.

I have tried blender to correct the mesh on the two bumpy parts, and I must say that it seems very complicated to me. I have no experience at all with this software, and it looks very difficult at first sight.
I could finally manage to modifiy the triangle mesh into square mesh (not sure about what i have done for this result :whistling:), but i had no succes to export the result as an assetto corsa track. I am currently stuck .
If someone has knowledges and time to give it a try, I would be very happy to receive some help on this specific point.

On my side I am trying to make the all aspect with colors/shaders better, because the all aspect remains very sensitive to the selected time of the day.
Plus, I have seen that some object's position must be corrected
Once again, the KSeditor is not at all intuitive to me. Plus the transparency imcompatibility between KSeditor and 3Dsimed is killing me.
I make some change with KSeditor which is WYSIWYG, and I am often disapointed into game. (just because I have to tweak options which are totally unknown from me ). Plus it take a lot of time.
I keep on going, but I will probably use only 3Dsimed, which is the only soft pretty easy to use. I make one correction and go into the game to look at the result, which again takes a lot of time.

I will release V1.0 when I am satisisfied, but it may take a while.
It will be for sure no giant step further anymore, just correction of some aspects of the tracks.
I have simply not the graphic knowledges for that (redo texture, objects, ....).

My personal goals have been already reached.
I hope you enjoy the track as I do.

Hi.
Some news on the work in progress.
I think that i found the solution to solve most of my trees lightning problem.
Probably something trivial for good modders here, but i had to read, learn and understand this by myself after a lot of hours and trials without much success.
To make it simple, it was mainly a problem with the normals of the objects.

I think i have made some good improvments, but it remains some work based on what i could learn and see during my test.

Some more wait, and i hope that you will be satisfied if you already appreciated the previous versions of the track.

manu68 updated Jops 2018 - Remembering Nick Milton with a new update entry:

Version 1.0 (final?)

Jops V 1.0 final
- The track is now finished. Of course it is a never ending process and there should be more to do, but intended the initial goal and the fact that the original track has been made for GPL for about 12 years, I have decided to release it at this stage as V 1.0.
- Many object position corrected
- Collisions correction
-Tree lightning and shaders correction. It is now a lot better as previous version, even if not "professional".
The track is usable at all time of the day and...

If you ever decide to do another track mod or even a car or skin, you should include a few screenshots in the Overview tab. Just a suggestion...most people do it.

Thanks
I Will probably never make another track, but i may try to further improve this one.
I will try to put pictures in the overview page
Thanks for the tip

Hi everybody.
First, thanks a lot to all of us who downloaded the track.
I hope you enjoy it .

I gave it a try this evening, and I had the bad surprise to see that a texture of the ground after the Tree all doesn't appear well .
It may be due to something not compatible with SOL, or Something else ???
I have no idea why it happens.
I have looked in 3Dsimed, and everything looks normal (texture etc...)

Any idea about what I could do in order to correct that ??
Do you observe the same thing as me ??

Thanks in advance
