Tracks Italotracks payware thread - Napoli 1934-57 released

Oh yeah for sure, definitely do not want to interupt Pescara '57 that will be incredible and we all await your creation.

The people facing backwards in Napoli reverse are scared & shy because I am going way too fast in opposite direction, but is such fun I do not mind the horror I cause at all !!! :O_o::D

A quick Pescara update for you all. :) I´ve planted thousands of trees around, my scene in Max is now creaking and crashing, so I will need to do something about that. I've found a few late reference photos for buildings that I have since built, I'll leave you a few pictures. My next update (when it comes) will be an onboard lap of the circuit.

hey there! i just came across this thread, i personally think that your work is amazing.

i read at the beginning that you were planning on doing the ospedaletti track! are you still planning to do it? i would love to drive it on AC.

Hi :)

Thanks a lot for taking the time to write!
I'm delighted you like it, I'm nearly finished with Pescara (this month I really hope) and then yes, Ospedaletti and Livorno to come, as long as Pescara goes well! :)
I'm really looking forward to working on the former, it'll be nice to work on something smaller and see more rapid progress with better reference data.
It's a beautiful location for a Grand Prix, what a wonderful part of the world :inlove:

how can I donate you? you deserve it

Thanks, that's very kind! However as my work is payware your custom will be more than generous enough support. :)
I am close to release, but a few things are taking more time and creating more work. For example, making the groove for AC in 3DS Max. A simple enough procedure that for most tracks could take ten minutes to an hour. Set the cross section, extrude along the spline that follows the racing line, then use the conform tool so that it follows the contours of the track, with a slight offset. Then spline map it. All straightforward, yet in Max the extrude along spline function distorted/twisted my groove across the 25.6 km, then the conform tool mostly worked but left some vertices (that had bled slightly beyond the edge of the track after the extrude) up in the sky, so I had to spend yesterday going along the track, lowering 25.6 km worth of vertices to track level. :roflmao:
That took me quite a while...
I've been a bit shy about posting video because up until now it's looked a bit sparse but that hopefully will change very soon, the AMS1 version is done and now I can throw more distant trees, buildings etc at it.

We wait patiently as the best things are always worth waiting for ! ;) Can only support you in spirit and with best wishes for now but I am sure we are all with you and ready to support with open wallet when time comes  Hungry for this new (actually Old) Historic Track ! :D
