Should DDU remove PhysX?

I have it checked, GFX install will install new one anyway, not sure why it's even an option. I also enable Safe Mode.

Why use a second browser when Microsoft have been so helpful?

For multi-platform users, passwords can be shared among e.g. Chrome browser installations.

a DDU procedure was drafted.

Following that procedure, pretty much to the letter,
running DDU twice in Safe mode,
installing Nvidia 465.89 before re-enabling Internet...
.. still crashes browser window on first YouTube video after restarts.

Differences noted:
* can no longer launch NVIDIA Control Panel from the notification area icon.
- actually, it can launch, but only before first videos after restarts.
* in Device Manager, driver reports as version 27.21.14.6589,
which has known problems, and is far from their latest,
but was the version nvidia.com offered for RTX 1080 Ti

Color me unimpressed.

• NVIDIA Control Panel can launch from notification area icon after driver recovers from crash
  • still with Game Ready Driver 465.89
  • only obvious difference is restarting without HP Reverb G1 attached
  • driver still crashes for first YouTube video after Windows restarts
