Hello all,
My handle here is Wilko Jones, and I am a filthy casual sim racer. I enjoy long, single player, loss of control and, crashing sessions, in well regarded sims like Assetto Corsa, ACC, Dirt Rally 1 & 2, PCARS 1 & 2, Race 07 and, most of all RaceRoom. I rarely venture into multiplayer due to fear of messing other players races up and making a general buttocks out of my self. So appearances on servers are pretty rare. Due to my moving work schedule and lack of seniority, I cannot commit to most leagues, although I really liked the short time I spent racing in Racedepartment's RaceRoom US group. That was a lot of fun!
Another fixation of mine is trying to get the most out of the limited equipment I have. For years I have ran a Fanatec CSR wheel base and basic CSR pedals. I recently bought a Thrustmaster TH8a, replaced the pedals with a set of Fanatec CSL LC, and even bought a wheel stand. All of those upgrades have breathed some new interests in Sim Racing, it even got me playing the dreaded Forza Motorsport 7 again, but only in career.
When I am not working, sim racing (practicing), or performing the various tasks that comes with marriage and fatherhood, I try my hand at making beats using my PC and FLStudio. I make what I like, and I like what I make. I'm not a professional, but my beats are good enough to play aloud in traffic without feeling embarrassed. Often I would rather listen to something I put together than to listen to rap music I have in my collection.
What drew me to Racedepartment?
At first it was mods for Assetto Corsa. I was just getting into PC gaming and I was pointed to RD's extensive list of mods, most of which were of good quality. Then after a while I put AC down for R3E. Aside from Sector 3's forum, RD has more info about the title than just about any other site that crossed my radar. On top of that, there are many familiar handles that participate on both of the sites regularly.
So, Hi everyone...
