Intel 13th Gen CPU's

Intel was just dropped from DOW and will be replaced with NVidia.
Meanwhile NVidia is coming to market with an Arm CPU in Sept 2025 and likely a full PC solution in March 2026.
Intel was rumored to be making this new Arm CPU.

So now the question is whether NVidia will just buy Intel ?

Additional questions are what OS will the new NVidia Arm PC use?
How long will it take for software to be compiled and optimized for this new computer to make it of value?

18% improvement over the Ryzen 7 9800X3D
The 64% is vs. the non-3D 7950x

Factorio has the potential to be an outlier in benchmarks though.

The 7800X3D was usually faster than the 7950X3D due to the 7950's dual-CCD latency. Same thing will probably happen with the 9800X3D VS 9950X3D for most games unless something has changed.

That said the 7800x3D has a boost clock of 5.2 GHz
The 9900x3D should be 5.7GHz
The 9950x3D should be 5.8GHz = 11% increase in speed alone without other optimizations

Well, yes, regardless whether you get a 9800X3D or a 9950X3D, it's going to be an improvement over the 7800X3D, for sure. What I was trying to say though, is that that Factorio benchmark - showing the 9950X3D with a big lead over even the 9800X3D - could be an exception as the 9800X3D will probably way more often than not be superior to the 9950X3D in gaming (due to the 9950's inter-CCD latency) just like the 7800X3D was way more often that not superior to the 7950X3D in gaming...unless something has changed this gen.

I understand that you are saying there is an architectural difference, or at least there was.

I also understand that the 9950X3D would have already been released, but they have been doing some additional performance tuning, so I guess we will need to see Gamers Nexus and other reliable sources of testing data once it is released.

Latest news/gossips. Intel responded by stating the Ultra launch didn't go as intended. Some of the issues like latency have been addressed and Intel will come with an improved testing situation.
