Wow, really playing the cynical capitalist act, aren't we? The drivers are human beings just like anyone else. They can consider whatever factors they bleeding well like. They can be concerned with the environment. Whether any of them, especially Vergne, do or not is another matter, however telling people that money is the only factor that should affect drivers' decisions is verging on Thatcher-esque ideology.
If my career is driving race cars. It has a very limited window of opportunity and a very limited number of available seats. I can be the noble eco-warrior and race in one tiny series with limited opportunities to expand beyond that. Thereby limiting my family's possible income for the rest of my career. Or I can attempt to drive where-ever they will accept me in what-ever is available. My family can prosper and I can provide for them by NOT being focus'ed on the money laundering green wave. What's wrong with Mags? Churchill? Thatcher? they lead their country with a firm hand and end up getting reviled.

Replace Grosjean already, ffs.. Ocon is available and I'm sure they could get Gasly on the cheap. Warn KMag that another **** up will cost him a lot.

I'd like to see Kyle Busch have a go at F1. Not the most likable fellow, but incredible talent. (I've always said it was a shame Jeff Gordon never drove an open-wheel car. He would have been outstanding.)

Nevermind Kyle. Kurt would be interesting. He already proved himself in an IndyCar.

I agree about Jeff Gordon. He would have been good in either F1 or IndyCars.

Following yet another collision between Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen at Silverstone, team boss Gunther Steiner promises fireworks within the coming days.

With neither driver particularly renowned for their ability to carry out a calm race weekend, Grosjean and Magnussen once again came to blows out on the circuit at Silverstone yesterday - sending both cars into retirement and further compounding what was another miserable weekend for the American team.

With the ever entertaining Gunther Steiner practically spitting fire following the double DNF for his drivers, the Austrian Haas F1 team boss has slammed the behaviour of his racers as "not acceptable", amid promises of further action to be taken within the under-fire squad.

Speaking at Silverstone following the double retirement for his two drivers, Steiner was understandably angry and disappointed about their lap one altercation.

“I’m obviously disappointed to say it, what happened. Everyone works hard to get out of this hole that we are in. We do the almost impossible and when we get the chance to score points or to at least learn something to move forward, they do something like this. I don’t need any explanation for this“.

Perhaps more ominously for the two current Haas drivers, Steiner left plenty of speculation on the table when he suggested that a post race dressing down won't be the last of the subject Grosjean and Magnussen will hear of their British Grand Prix collision...

“We knew that because we worked hard for it on Friday. It’s a wasted opportunity. There’s your headline.

“I will do what I think is right to do in the next days.”
Could this mean the end of the line for one of their drivers? Will we see a new face in the black and gold cars before the year is out? If you were team boss of Haas, what would you do?

Replace Romain at one race with Pietro or Ocon, Magnussen at another, just to give them warning of what will happen if they kept continuing to hit each other, which is being ousted by me

So the main problem is probably that even after Grosjean crashed with both Magnussen and 2 other drivers back in the Spanish Grand Prix Guenther Steiner didnt dare to tell Grosjean that because he causes to many goofy accidents then he either has to back off in such situations or he will get fired.
It looks like Steiner hasnt the balls to say this - so probably Grosjean will just goofy on.:whistling:

The day after.
Exactly as I presumed.
As teamboss Steiner has no balls :sneaky:

Gordon was talented and very 'bankable'.
The Buschs...not so much.
Too many temper tantrums.
That'd never 'fly' in Formula One.
Though it would never happen because of their Mercedes connection and obligation, I'd love to see Ocon and Russell driving those two cars.
Both are enormous talents being wasted in their current roles.

For Russell, I believe the current season is a very valuable experience. I always felt it was good for a young driver to start in a bad car. It's an excellent lesson in patience and adversity. Look at Vettel: he's never really been in a truly bad car, so when things start going south for him, he doesn't quite know how to react.

As for Ocon, he'll be back in F1 soon, even if it means severing his ties with Mercedes.

theres in f2 many talents .Latifi Markelov Galael etc etc... i hate how the elites of f1 r overrated (vettel.grosj..stroll etc etc) look at albon or norris a young and talented drivers, haas should do some risky steps like mc laren did!

OK Maybe Steiner afterall will do more than just show a grumpy face against his "boys" - this time.
Rumor: Esteban Ocon could replace Romain Grosjean at Haas

Would be great if we have seen the 1st Lap Nutcase for the last time.:sneaky:

Oh yeah - all these cute boys dont deserve that anybody behave a bit aggressive against them - because they are soo cute and nice.
This is hilarious.:roflmao::roflmao:
People are moaning all the time because F1 is both boring and is populated with faceless drivers always expressing only empty political correctness - because they afraid of anything else.
And then when we see a driver who drives a bit more agressively and by all means dont care about political corectness in speach then Oh this terrible man have to leave F1 - immediately!
Pretty hilarious.:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:
You don't spice up boring by introducing that level of danger.
Any driver willing to put another driver into the wall just to avoid being passed, doesn't deserve to be in motorsport.
Everybody gets passed on track at some point.
Having to needlessly worry if a guy is going to kill you for trying to do so, can't be any fun.

Hehe I could add a few other drivers that is even more dangerous.
But they are entertaining too - soo...
If you want F1 to be some kind of a nursery home without any danger then look somewhere else. :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Its not about being a "nursery home"...it is about common sense.
Because drivers aren't being killed every weekend as in past times, doesn't mean we should discount that it can happen.
If you want extreme danger as a form of spicing up racing, go watch something else.
That ship has sailed and we have the memories of too many good, dead drivers.

After watching the Netflix F1 series, I can't believe Steiner brought Grosjean back this season. If they do have a mid-season switch, I'd love to see Gene Haas bring over someone from IndyCar (Alexander Rossi maybe?) just to see how they'd run.

As much as Guenther Steiner is entertaining, he's also very disruptive with his "no bs" approach. They have a great car, but for the 4th year running the race team can't figure it out.
Nothing to do with the drivers, they've been quite stellar.
