GTR 2 VR Support! (Not asking, telling!)

It sounds like JSTN method works pretty well :) Do you happen to know what effect it has on the Championship?

No haven't tried Championship.
But see no reason it will not work?

And are you getting rain in the race?

Yes with the weather patched Steam Gtr2.
But we should not expect it to change too much during a 20 min sprint.
Looks like thee are some realistic logic behind the changes first the sky changes, then the ambient temperature (drops) and the rain starts.

Bjarne - if you can, please come over to Discord (when you have time, and remember - you don't need an app if you don't want it). I see a lot of opportunities around weather stuff, but I lack deep knowledge here.

When I rotate my head the image gets distorted, it looks like the interior of the car is slightly moving instead of being fixed. This only happens when rotating my head, other movements don't cause this problem.

I got a WMR headset gen 1 and have none of those issues.
For the most I use Seated mode so no RoomScale but even with roomscale on I do not have this effect.
Did have something similar with Opentrack
My defviews.cam setting

Fov=(105.000000, 105.000000)
Clear=True
Color=(164, 218, 249)
ClipPlanes=(0.37500, 500.000000)
The near plane of 0.375 only works with seated mode.

I do mainly use seated mode not only in Gtr2 but in all race sims.
Just got used to it and feels more natural to me.

Have you set the rotation limits to the max -1 or 1?

Hope you get it fixed as it works great for me.

That's the same as normal except it's less of a gradient, time acts on temps as well.
So tomorrow if I set it to 50 laps of Spa and time accelerate it, see how that tests.

I think I must be doing something wrong as I just can't get it to rain on a weekend race.
had a strange one:

That's new for me, flooded at start temp, drops and track dries.

Which Gtr2 version are you using? The one I sent to you?

Gtr233 has put in some other parameters in the HQ gdb file maybe they interfere with the forecast?
Try speeding up the time 10 times
Then make a long race ~ 1 hour should simulate 10 hours.
Would think you will get a shower every 3-4 races

Rained for 11min and 45 sec. Times 10
Then dried to sun like the forecast said.
Just about to make an install with HQ and VR so will test the HQ tracks
This was weekend race skipping through to Race session

Awesome news! How come this did not make the news in this website? I would much rather have this kind of information than whatever is going on in the current F1 season or some other platitude laden inane community question that doesn't have any relevance to the hobby whatsoever.

From what I understand, owner of RD and mr_belowski had an argument about hosting of CrewChief download. So no CC news on here.

Just saw thus and can't wait to try it out. Definitely front page newsworthy.
If this can be added to all the oldies it will give them a whole new life.
I expect they would run better in VR on my potato PC than current gen titles.
Have been using a virtual desktop in Big Screen VR with head tracking but this looks so much better.
Even in virtual desktop pseudo VR the oldies look better maxed out than current titles on low.

It run and look great both on Gtr2 and on AMS 1.
You still need some Cpu power special at night in the rain.
But you are right it looks great.
been using Gtr2 for many years and see new details in VR due to the 3D every time I use it .
Having a i7 7700k @ 4.8 Ghz and a RTX 2070 is plenty on a WMR headset .
It is mainly the CPU that will be the limited
