Rules:
If you have not entered the server and driven a few laps with fellow drivers before we go to qualifying you are too late for that session.

Please think of your fellow drivers. Get out on track with them, watch how they drive, you can't race with guys you have not seen drive. We ALL brake a little differently and drive the corners differently, get used to how they drive and then we can all race more safely.

If you drop out of the server during qualifying you can return.

This is being held in our Club, using Club Rules, and should be driven in that spirit.

What a great opener Steven,
Two cars that produced some great racing, the Mustang with it Power on the straights and the ford with its great cornering speed.

Race 1
After watching Allan get a powerhouse start and make his way up to the front in his mustang.
I was caught out by the slow speed at the apex and tapped him slightly, and from a stand still i think my car stalled, so i was dumping the clutch and free rolling and trying to start the car,
i did fire up but i t was panic time, i could see all the cars in my rearview mirror. that totally throw me and made a right mess of it trying to get out the way. (sorry to all)
after that it was a race back through the field from last place.
I was producing good lap times and made great fun, getting by the mustangs was tricky and had to really push to get the gap before the home straight..
Pulled a couple of great passes going round the outside of the big muscle cars and beating them into the next corner, right near the end of the race i caught up to Warren And Yves battling for second and 3rd place. I did get a run on Warren in his Escort, but i backed out of the pass because he had lost his momentum being right up the back of Yves coming out a corner and that to me was not fair as i had kind of blocked his overtake with my car being on his inside slightly overlapping his rear end on the exit of the corner. So 4th place it was .. great fun good racing

Race 2
Managed to put the Mustang in 3rd place in qually:roflmao: (how i did that i don't know)
got a great start and it was me and Jacob at the front, Mustang power..:D
As the race unfolded all i could see was Jacob holding of the escorts behind him (POWERRR)
but eventually Antonio got by and was soon eating into my 4 second lead with a few laps to go he was right on my bumper looking to pass, i could also see Yves was getting close in his ford
I had a moment in a corner and Antonio flow by in his Escort, and it was a chace to the line...
2nd place this time in the big yank tank.
1 more lap and Yves would of probably done the same..

Wd Jacob and Antonio on the wins and all that drove this great little combo....

Interesting couple of races with predictable battles to be had, which certainly played out (around me at least :)).

Race 1, I had a race long scrap with Yves, his classic V8 brute with heaps of straight line power, vs my nimble Escort. Unfortunately, I just couldn't find a clean pass. Apologies to Yves for the tap through the last turn, I had trouble judging the speed difference between us there  . I waited after spinning Yves off there, and this made me very cautious from then on, which made sticking a pass even more difficult. I tried every line possible, inside, outside, even managed a couple of passes but it was always just before that long straight, so Yves just blew me away down there. Good fun Yves. :D
Grats to Jacob for the win, must have been very lonely but I just couldn't get the open space I needed to give you any competition.

Race 2 proved the opposite in the Shelby. I actually managed a good start, but I had my nose chopped off as I was about to pass the front cars, so I got swamped and then caught up behind the accident of Yves and Steven at turn 2. After things settled, I had a couple of great laps with Jack and this looked like being a classic, but Jack sadly had a PC glitch on the final turn to the straight. Later, Steven caught me, so we then had the expected classic duel, with Steven desperately looking for a way around my Shelby. However, after the lesson Yves gave me in Race 1, I decided to apply the same defensive techniques on Steven. After holding him at bay for many laps, I then caught Jacob's Shelby, so now Steve had the very daunting prospect of trying to get by two duelling tanks. He didn't quite manage it though, but he sure tried hard. Sorry Steve, I know how you must have felt. ;)
Grats to Antonio for the win and WD Rupe and Yves for the podium.

Good fun, good track and car choice Steve, thanks heaps. :)

@Andrew Jarnell and @Rupe Wilson - You were not trying to drive the blue Escort with the orange stripe were you Andrew? I remember having the can't choose any other car problem on one of myu other machines about a year ago never solved it (had to uninstall) and although its a bit sketchy in my memory that Escort and Y151 seemed to be at least part to blame.

that was a fun event thanks Steven for it

Race 1: i manages to get third place in qualy but i wasn't expecting to stay there cause of the Escorts being some much faster over the long run compare to the Shelby. my start wasn't so bad and didn,t loose much places at the start and at T2 Rupe and Alan had an incident luckely i was at the right place on the track and got by it with no problem following Warren which was second in the Escort and some how i managed to overtake him during the first lap which surprised me  from there it was a 13 laps battle betwwen me and Warren for second place. i knew that Warren in the Escort was faster so i wasn't over defending and i was trying to keep the racing line as much as possible but the Shelby power and top speed was enought to keep him behind with a few swapping place from time to time but always managed to repass him on the front straight. with 2 laps to go Rupe caught us and help me in a way cause now Warren had to worry about Rupe a little more. finished second with a big smile on my face cause i was able to hold an Escort behind :D

Race 2: now in the Escort :devilish: time to make the most out of it. took the pole in qualy infront of Antonio. my start was a mess too much wheel spin and then when i shifted into second lost all the RPM so i got passed right, left and center before T1 putting me back to second to last and to add to that in T2 i spun Steven (really sorry mate :() so from there i knew i had my work cut out to make it to the front. first had a nice fight with Steven and then made a few spots pretty easely i caught up with the guy's in the Shelby that were struggeling more with it then with the Escort. the fight with Steven and Jacob took too much time so at the end i missed a few laps to try and pass Rupe for second place but i was not far at then end.

in all it was good fun in both races, one being the chasy and in the other being the chaser :D

Hehehe. Thanks guys. While testing we use a default setup and I was managing to get lap times within a few 10ths of each other so I thought they would be closer together than they turned out to be and after seeing some of the lap times that you were getting I had serious reservations about how well the cars were matched. I shouldn't have worried though as it turned out to be a bit of a David & Goliath pairing and everyone seemed to have great fun.

Race 1 and I managed to get a decent start in the Mustang making up a few places in the process. On the run down to the first hairpin I saw @Rupe Wilson lose the back end of his :poop: brown Escort :whistling::D causing those that were on the inside line to slow or stop but luckily I was on the other side of the track so it didn't affect me. After that I kept the first lap steady because getting that bus round on cold tyres was a little tricky.
A few laps later I was caught by the recovering Rupe who pulled an amazing and risky pass around the outside of me at the last hairpin. We were side by side on the exit but I was on a tighter line and couldn't put the power down early enough to keep him behind me. Nice one mate.
By the middle of the race I found myself racing alone for much of the rest of it trying to catch @Antonio Tavares but the gap was staying constant at about 6 seconds until lap 12 when I made a slight cock-up in the last hairpin and couldn't recover quickly enough to stop Denis passing me. :roflmao:. So I finished mid field but even though I hadn't seen anyone for much of the race I still enjoyed wrestling the Yank Tank around and watching it eat it's tyres.:roflmao:

Race 2 saw me qualify up near the front and as the lights went out I got another great start easily passing the guys ahead of me. It was still looking good all the way down to the first hairpin when @Yves Larose got it a little wrong and nudged me into a slide that I couldn't catch.:( I quickly got my car off the track so that I wasn't hindering anyone else and set off again when it was clear to do so. Thanks for stopping Yves, apology accepted mate. Of course it wasn't long before he got past me and I just followed him until he overtook Allan. Then it was a 3 car convoy of Escorts tearing around the track in pursuit of the others.
@Denis Betty was the next in line to get caught and past by Yves and @Allan Ramsbottom made a sneaky move to follow him through:ninja::roflmao:. Unfortunately for me though this happened at the last hairpin and by the time we had exited Denis had managed to hit the loud pedal and split me off from the road train;)
Denis' racing has come on in leaps and bounds and he was able to keep me at bay for a lap or two until he overcooked it a little in one of the bends and gave me an easy pass. Allan was next in line for me to overtake and it wasn't long before the inevitable happened and he screwed up coming out of the last hairpin and gave me another easy pass. That last hairpin is proving to be a tricky bend to master:D.
After leaving Allan in my dust I caught up to @Warren Dawes and thought I would be able to pass into the same last hairpin but I went in a little too fast and slid into the side of Warrens Mustang so I dropped back and give him the exit. That was to be the only opportunity I would have to pass him as he managed to cover my every move. I made a couple of small mistakes and dropped back from him a little but was easily able to catch up again but even having a run on him proved fruitless. Well done Warren, it was a masterful display of skill and an immense amount of fun.

Thanks to everyone who attended and congratulations to the winners. I hope that the next pair of cars will provide just as much fun as these.

Definitely risky for me. thought it was best to try round the outside, and if the grip went i was the only one going off into the side. But it stuck, (Phew)... nothing ventured nothing gained,:roflmao::roflmao:
I would not try it at that speed and go up the inside though, unless i knew it would work...:)
