AC GT3 @ Road Atlanta - Sunday 6th October 2024

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
I was on 2.4 and got onto the server, went to 1.79 because that has always been reliable and also got onto the server.
Al my cars are as loaded from the download site, unchanged.

Thank you.
I guess I will not be competing after all then.
Impossible to troubleshoot this from this side with the (lack of) information available.

i would remove the Akuro completely from your pc, then reload from afresh, suspect it is something to do with csp.bat files in the package

I can't join. What is my checksum problem? Does anyone know that?

I was already on the server for training. For info.

@Interslice will have the official answer.

Have you tired re-loading the track? Some of us found using this one helped?
Hi Ernie. Track is here. It's @Johnr777 official download. Sorry thought I linked it in the OP.

If you had the original 3 GTM cars you are as well to just buy the pack. It works out same/cheaper than getting the 4 new ones.

The 3 original cars still on the same version as the last weeks race so no need to update them again!

Otherwise it's a case of checking the cars are the latest versions.

That was great today. Very constant driving at the top. Well done. I spontaneously decided not to change tires to add a little spice to the front. A car can be an obstacle. ;)

Deservedly won Rob. It was really exciting today, great! :)
Yeah, very exciting race for me as well. I did a tire change as well. I don't think they could make it the whole race.

On a side note, I'm sorry I couldn't respond on discord, I think the microphone on my headset is non-functional. I was trying to respond, but no one could hear me.

Congrats on the win Rob, a very strong performance. These cars are very well matched and the different strategies made for an exciting race.
I had a spin on the slow right handed before the straight that cost me any chance of challenging for the win, but even so I was happy with my overall pace and consistency. Before that I could keep Rob in sight but that Porsche is so quick on the straight.
Thanks Brian for setting this up, really nice combo.

You definitely had me nervous during the first stint. The Porsche is very quick under the right circumstances, but it's a handful all of the time. I was fully focused on just not making mistakes.

So, did everyone do a tire change? It seems like my 50/50 strategy lost me lots of track position.

I didn’t change tires, just went 50/50 on fuel, took about 8 seconds, then the spin cost another10 seconds or so. So overall your strategy worked as you had the fresher tires for the closing laps and we’re mighty quick, I was having to manage the tires for the whole race.

Thanks everyone. I really enjoy racing these cars.

I had a good, for me, qualifying and got fourth but at the start struggled into T1 on cold tyres letting Brian and Ernie came past while my 911 was dancing on ice. Once up to temperature the 911 blasted past Brian on the long straight (no driver skill, it was just fast in a straight line) and was reeling Ernie in before he pitted.

I never found the pace I had in qualifying in the race and the front three were in a different league. It was looking close between Pat and I at the pitstops but I'm guessing he had a spin somewhere(?) as he was suddenly 20 seconds back having been chasing me down the lap before. I think it would have been very close at the end otherwise.

Well done Rob! 1.17 for pole was impressive.

I just did fuel. The tyres were 50% worn at the end. It was driveable but slower in the second half. Yours would have been even more worn as you were ~1.5s a lap quicker.

Nice racing fellas. A good battle with Pat at the end. Unfortunate that I lost the back end coming over the hill to the last corner, with a few minutes left in the battle.
I felt like I was up to speed in qualy but my times were way off. I pitted at half way and then exited the pits, then teleported to pits to change the rear wing, from stock 5 down to 1. It was very driveable but a bit slidey. The straight line speed issue was clear in the race.
I gained a second of laptime with the setup change and could keep up with Pat albeit a lap down from him!

Enjoyable racing once again. Congrats to Rob for the win, not easy keeping the Porsche pointing for home! Thanks to all for racing and see you for the next one!

That was fun from the mid back of the pack. I had a chance to get 4th, but messed up T1 and ended with a great battle with Brian. I have not tested all these cars, some don't have soft tires as an option. Not sure how that changes things. Need more testing and racing with these cars.

All the tyres are the same more or less, just different names.
I noticed after that the brake ducts on the car, I had fully open. My tyres were coldish at times even around this twisty track. Particularly front right into the chicane. Worth a look.

What is open 0 or 5, tried to look outside the car whilst adjusting them, but could see nothing. Put them at 0 ?
Struggled to get any pace out of the Bayro car and even had to return to the pits to correct my on the start line setup fiddling, which was done out of frustration, that did not help.
I assumed the engine map was best left at 1, eventually.:( ?????
Could not find anything about the car, unlike the RSS combo’s that had literature included.
When I drove the Bayro without the update it was a dream to drive, unfortunately the old setup would make it too competitive, for me it was like being in a bus, in a Gt3 race.
I can pretty much guess that Paul will not agree, but he had a lot more overall pace than I did, maybe just a case of horses for courses from my perspective. Never been any good at this circuit to add in another factor.

1 is wide open i believe. With the porsche I had them at 3 front 4 rear and didnt really need to adjust after that. They do seem to make a noticable difference to braking and maintaining tyre temps. As above the Audi was difficult to get through the chicane with them wide open. Cold front tyre understeer. It a nice solution to the age old problem of cold front and hot rears in AC GT cars.
The old m4 was nice to drive but it was a pig to BoP so I think we better for the update. My feeling was it just needs dialling of the setup.

I can't remember what the old version was like Ernie, only that it was Bopped and I couldn't get anything out of it. But after playing about a bit with this version I am getting it to where I can throw it around with an amount of confidence, I still have the TC turned up to try to stop the back stepping out mind you.
True, I like this track but I had the car going well (for me) at Portimao too. I initially ran the Corvette when it first came out but didn't spend enough time getting to know it and several spins at Laguna Seca (not my favourite track) made me turn to the front engined BMW.
FYI, TC .....the higher the values the more intervention (unlike the gen 1 cars from Kunos). Not sure on the brake ducts, more testing required there but I ran them at 5 for this race.
