Very enjoyable race with all the weather and track changes. I qualified 14th which I was happy with because I learned the track this week.
Never driven this track or car (Porsche) in the wet so I didn’t have a setup for it. My strategy was to soften the car up as much as possible by lowering both springs, raising ride height, loosening roll bars and differential whilst increasing tyre pressures on the wets. This seemed to work as the car was very easy to drive using the kerbs etc... but obviously that setup wasn’t going to work when it started to dry out and my right rear was glowing red.
Thought that I may get a puncture so pitted a little earlier than I wanted.
After that it took a while to heat up my slicks but once they did the car was ok, a bit soft and floaty but drivable.
Before I knew it I was in second position?
Lesson: don’t ever give up! I believe I overtook two cars for race position and finished second! Some guys are really fast in quali but can’t race for 90 mins...
Thanks to all for blue flags, didn’t have one complaint!
