Polyphony Digital recently pushed live a new update for GT Sport - adding plenty of new content and a Lewis Hamilton branded new time attack challenge.
That's right, Lewis Hamilton has further cemented his relationship with the PS4 exclusive racing game as part of this new V1.50 update to GT Sport, with his Lewis Hamilton Time Trial Challenge - where players have the opportunity to pitch their skills against the newly minted six-time Formula One World Champion. Hamilton has set fast laptimes on ten of the tracks within GT Sport, with prizes awarded for those who manage to beat or get close to the Mercedes driver...
... however this new addition comes with a bit of a catch for GT Sport players. The Lewis Hamilton Time Trial Challenge has the dubious honour of being the very first paid DLC for the title. Retailing at £6.49, anyone who wants to step up and challenge the times set by Hamilton will have to dig into their wallets for the privilege - which will be interesting to see how this is taken by the community considering the long history of free content and feature updates for GT Sport so far during the development of the game.
For those looking to keep their cash firmly locked away in your wallet, build 1.50 did contain some nice new free additions - not least of which is the return of everyone's favourite Porsche alternative - welcome back RUF!
Yes, remember the days when Porsche kept their racing game licences locked firmly in the 'do not disturb' drawer and we had to drive around in a RUF and pretend? Well in a strange twist, I think many folks have missed the famous RUF brand now that Porsche are pretty much everywhere, and GT Sport have stepped up to bring the specialist manufacturer back into their sim - adding the CTR3 2007 into GT Sport as part of the latest new free content update.
Other cars added to the title as part of build 1.50 are the 2003 BMW M3 Coupe, the 2016 Toyota 86 GT ‘Limited’, a 2020 special edition Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Coupe, and a nice RE Amemiya FD3S RX-7... not bad for nowt is it?
Further enhancements as part of the latest build include Spa themed 'Circuit Experience' and seven new GT League events to enjoy.
GT Sport is available exclusively on Sony PlayStation 4.
