Good race today everyone. I never "wish" for opponents to go off track,
but as this was my first ever pole
, I didn't "appreciate"
@Kek700 driving a very clean speedy race up there ahead of me after I decided to play in the sand early on
.
As for the rest of race, definitely wasn't my cleanest, but I consider making it all (most?) the way around lap 1 still in 1st a great success, as the only other times I've lead races were reverse grids and it was the second race, and I lost it very quickly
. Took the pit stop about 20 min and it seemed like maybe with the pit stop I might be able to get Ernie down to a sub 10s gap, but it wasn't in the cards. Had a good battle with Richard instead
, who eventually pitted, leaving me to myself to finish the race trying to break into the 1:28s, which I managed to do surprisingly. (Not that it got me any closer to Ernie lol)
As always, thanks for hosting Brian, and thanks for all the good driving everyone. Time to fill up the RV and start the drive to Florida
. Hoping I can make it this Wednesday. Really want to give the Mazda a go and all this driving with everyone here seems to have made me a little bit faster
.
