Back-to-back wins for Minardi
Second win in a row for the Italian team, this time taken by Mane Goddard. Ben Utzer in 2nd and Takahiro Yamaguchi in 3rd joined him on the podium.
Goddard had kept the lead at the start, while teammate Diehl made it a Minardi 1-2 by passing Yamaguchi. That only lastet for 10 laps tough, when Diehl's engine blew up on the start-finish straight. Yamaguchi and Kederer couldn't hold on to their positions, being on a 1 stopper they both dropped back in the opening laps.
After the first round of stops Yamaguchi was leading ahead of Goddard and Kederer. Engberink, Sigoulakis and Utzer followed a bit further behind. At that point both McLarens had joined the list of retirements with technical problems. Goddard retook the lead a few laps before Yamaguchi came in for his stop. The Ferrari driver rejoined in 6th, but a mistake cost him a lot of positions.
After the 2 stoppers had completed their 2nd stop, it was Goddard leading ahead of Utzer, Yamaguchi, Rinneaho, Kederer and Black. It shouldn't stay like that though, both Rinneaho and Kederer retired in the remaining laps. Laad and Ancevski profited from that, while Laad almost made it on the podium, only missing out by 2 hundredths.
