How to join our races

To compete in any RaceDepartment Club race, you must be a premium member. You must also use your real name on all RD servers and Discord, and include this in your forum profile. It is the only way of identifying who you are during an event.

Before any race, please make sure you have acquainted yourself with our Racing Club rules. These detail the conduct we expect from all racers. This is a tried and tested method which makes the racing fun, fair and clean for all involved.

If any of these races interest you, please visit the thread, post in it and join in the race. Once you sign up, the event organiser will give you the password to allow you to join the servers. Some races have the server open to allow you to get used to the car and track beforehand.

Any of you up for a bit of Fast Prototype Fun around VIR tonight? I know some of you have said you are away/could not make it, but unfortunately, I didn't keep note, so please ignore me if you have already told me and I have forgotten.

Just sold my Fanatec csl dd, currently looking into Simucube stuff. Not decided yet if it will be the pro or the sport. So won't be joining the upcoming events.
Nice! well... kinda... it does mean you cannot race for a while :). Personally, I'd go for the Pro. 50% more peak torque for 15% more €.... You'll probably never use the full power of it, but it'll just run a lot cooler when you want to crank it up. My alpha-mini has a reported peak of 13Nm and when I race the old stuff I like to have the FFB turned up and it tends to get very hot. Apparently it's expected and designed to tolerate it, but next time I'm over speccing.

Yes that seems to be the general consensus. But including an Ascher wheel it's quite an investment. I also looked into the Simagic ultimate, I like their rims and it seems to be on par with Simucube but it's only based on 2 youtube guys. Could you find some decent settings for AMS2? Some people seem to struggle with it.

I haven't tried the 'default' and 'default+' for a while in AMS2, so things might have changed, but I struggled to find anything I liked that worked consistently amongst vehicles I used regularly with either of those. I ended up going for a default 'custom' FFB file. This doesn't provide certain FX through the wheel, like front lockup etc.... but this actually worked really well for me as I have the missing effects though various tactile, like pucks on my pedals. I have been happy with it for a while now.

I use the Simucube Pro and I’m quite happy with my Ffb settings in AMS and the Simucube Software. But I also never used/liked enhanced effect that are trying to replace things in the wheel that shouldn’t be there as real Momentum

If you want to test drive a SC2 pro, let me know Kees. I own a SC2 pro as well as a SC1.

Can’t make it Scott. Sorry

I'd like to register for this if I'm not too late and you've no objection to someone who hasn't raced either this car or track before, I've just done a good 30 laps though and it's a fun combination. I'm also quite new to AMS2, I've been more on ACC / iRacing but having picked up a big chunk of DLC in the steam sale I'm really enjoying it.

I've been around on race department for a while but not really got involved in the community side of things but hoping to get stuck in a lot more in the future. I've just joined the discord as well.
