@HF2000 during your tests did you get the chance to try:
  • renault-clio-v6-phase-ii-stage-2-by-amed-perf

Just gave it a spin and seems to be on the similar lap times to the BMW and the Mazda, at least according to my driving skills. It's not an easy drive, but still easier to control that the Renault 5.

But is it RWD?

Yes!
And it on the default set-up loves to slide around if you are not careful with the accelerator! ;)
Give it a spin (literally) and let me know how it feels on your hands.
It's a nice car to drive fo sure. But in my first lap I was already 1 second faster than my MX5 PB and that is without setup changes. So no go for the RWD class. And I'm looking for mods that have slicks as tyres like the other cars.

Then it's just in my hands that goes on similar pace. Thank you for checking, never hurts to try.
I'm currently adding a lot of cars to my collection - I did not know that site you shared - so if I find any other suitable candidates I will let you know, keeping in mind the tire selection as well.
I already found some very pleasant surprises (as well as deceptions), but so far that clio was the closest to my MX5 pace.

How about this one? In my first lap I was only 3seconds behind with default setup.

Super easy to drive! Very smooth and balanced, quite enjoyable.
And the interior threw me off when I started! :roflmao:
It's a copy of the other Renault 5 you got us testing, but then the revs cut-off way earlier - driving it off the pit lane I kept waiting for the red light to go off but that never happened!

I report the exact same findings: 3 seconds slower on default set-up, and my gut feeling tells me even with the perfect set-up will continue to be slower than the Mazda (maybe 1~2 seconds)
I see 2 possible uses for it:
a) Beginners, given how easy and stable it was to drive , although there is also the Suzuki option which in my opinion is even easier to drive.
b) Challenge mode for aliens: "can you take the slower car and still make it to the top of the charts?"
