Is it just me? That station wagon looks circa 1960 and most game controllers have been wireless for ages.
Is it possible someone recycled that image
I agree with your observation 100% and raise you!
Image was crudely executed with a mish-mash of graphic styles (the early 1960s wagon Christmas card like image being much nicer than the Beavis & Bu**headesque gamer), the family truckster ca. "1985" should have been a minivan or a Buick Century or a Ford LTD station wagon, and message is more lamentable than laughable.
To compound the anachronism, here in the U.S. midwest, snow days were rare. Cancellations are all too common now with kids waiting at the bus stop in heated cars. In elementary school, I had a snowmobile suit, down mittens which were useless for making snowballs and COLD when wet, and Sorel pack boots. We WALKED in minus 11 degree F windchills, dodging (most of the time) plenty of snowballs from old kids with gloves.
In the Kansas City area--ice is more prevalent than white stuff. In 1985 I was in high school and we often slid our way to class INSIDE our vehicles. I remember one morning in a lifted Chevy K-5 Blazer repeated slow-motion sliding into the same car on a particularly steep hill--not a big deal for my friend's white painted steel bumper, but an issue for the Ford Pinto/Mercury Bobcat sheetmetal on the receiving end.
You would never have found me bumper sliding during any point in my youth--too much chance of hitting a patch of pavement and winding up with a head injury. I remember seeing kids do it behind a school bus and thinking, "That is stupid!"
Let's salvage all the above with this fantastic homage to a great year!:
