It´s allways awe inspiring to see the progression of your models, A3DR. Love to look thorugh those!

Glad to hear that!

Looks amazing
What does the flipswitch on the steering wheel do in the real car?

Well there are different variations of the instrument panel and some steering wheels have a hole instead of the switch there so, from this setting it could be used for ignition retard. Some others have it on the instrument panel where the light switch goes.

Fixed greenish tint on cockpit, otherwise @chargingcar said he'll kick me in the rear....

Screw DXT5 compression and it's bugs.

Great work man! looks awesome :D

That gear knob looks so inaccessible and uncomfortable to shift with
Loving the old and used looking touch on the materials, looks sick!
Yeah on top of that they changed to the H pattern, it was meant to be a sequential gearbox, so the placement would've made more sense there.

Worked out some details, bolts, radiators, gearbox and some other bits, and fixed some UV issues on the front panel (thanks @chargingcar ). Ignore that ugly stop light for now :ninja:

And yeah, looking meaner in black :ninja::ninja::ninja::ninja:

To wrap last week's work, finished texturing the underside, suspension and mechanical bits. Won't be visible more than 20% of the time on replays maybe, depends on how the light hits it from behind, but it's all there.

Normal light from the top / left corner, huge wing makes a lot of shadow there

Forced light to see suspension / gearbox details:

(yes that's an R :whistling:)

Ground effects and floor textured, only visible if flying :D

Overall shot, still no proper ambient shadows

And I liked the light on the instrument panel here

This one's based on the Lotus Type 79 (or JPS Mk IV), the 80 had a slightly different shape, flatter nose with an intake. Now we know why the Type 80 wasn't as successful as the 79 :roflmao:

Chapman was a stubborn man and refused to adapt the Lotus 80. Mario tested the thing many times and couldn't improve the setup. Carlos reverted to the 79 and got a few results but poor Mario had a terrible season for a reigning WC. He finally left for Alfa Romeo for 1981.
