Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Great (lengthy) post, Rico!

And I also want to thank everyone who participated in my events this year! It was a lot of fun, not only the racing, but also the conversations on Discord and the discussions in the threads.

So for my part I am willing to continue organizing these events in 2024, as long as we have decently filled grids.

Starting with this one, which I won't be attending myself, but I'll leave it to Carsten to remind everyone to drive safely: https://www.racedepartment.com/thre...zda-brands-hatch-wed-3rd-january-2024.266937/

Have a good one!

Another easy race for me, Allan and Jason I forgot about. In another’s league. So that left a gaggle of Mazdas, so that was a case that a faster car with the same lap time is always going to win out, it can be so disheartening to catch someone then to find them disappear up the road on every long straight. This can put you into a negative place. So once I was passed the last Mazda. That was I think Colin, Robert and Carsten that just left Hank, that was going to be an impossible overtake so I just waited it out and hopefully he would have an off, he chose the last lap the one corner that is a kiss of death for the fore ever bouncing pogo stick, once it gets hold your fried.
So an underserved place, but none the less welcome, a nice end of the race for me.

The bailiff s have finally caught up with me again, so tonight it is a frantic packing up home and tomorrow a change of home, from Rochester to sunny Walderslde in Kent.

I really love this track. There is always somewhere to go quicker, so rewards practice.

A good quali for me for a change so started towards the front. Had a really good scrap for most of the race with Robert and Carsten. We were fairly evenly matched but probably finished In the order of performance - so me last of the group!

I also had an odd pitstop and thought I'd cheated a bit. I saw Robert go in and for some reason panicked as I though it was my last opportunity to pit. I then dived in at the last moment and by accident had a faster pitstop than Robert as he drove in at the start of the pitlane.

It all worked out in the end as he got his place back as I made a mess of the section before the bridge hairpin and went off on the last lap.

Thanks to Han for organising and thanks to everyone for the high quality of driving. Having such a fast group really pushes you on to improve.

Thanks as ever to @Fat-Alfie for the best tracks in AC.

If you still need your fix on this circuit then please join my race next Tue in the classic edition. These old cars are mega on this track.

I only managed one of these this time around but enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone for some great racing this year and to Han for his great organisation. @HF2000

Hope they don't reposess the sim rig... :)

Didn't had time to practice beforehand, therefore I made what was possible to do with the time at my disposal. I didn't though I would have been so far from everyone, in any case :( my best lap, possibly the only clean one in the whole race, was several seconds behind the last human, let alone the aliens. I tried watching the replay this morning looking for "inspiration" on where to get better, but the race one hasn't been saved  Anyone willing to share?

Basically, lack of practice made my race a nice yet not too exciting cruise along the circuit, coupled with many off track outing in points that I still had to get knowing well. The start was the only moment in which I had to manage avoiding contacts and I think I've done pretty well. At least, I turned on the CSP rendering app and had a look at the (disastrous) stats, time to review Rasmus' post about what to check (this is the right time to do it, as I have some free time due to the vacation).

Cheers Han for organizing and for the podium finishers, you guys rock! Hope that next week in Brands I'll have a better time (no pun intended ;) ) as I know the track relatively well.
