Just for information, the first team to introduce the paddle shifters was Ferrari in 89, and yeap, it was a very problematic season for them

As far as I remember, it's like this:
E = Qualifying tyres (only good for outlap and one hotlap)
D = Soft
E = Medium
B = Hard
A = Superhard
