Oh yeah I forgot the rain! Meeting matt going full pelt down the straight, him being side on across the track was a scary moment! He said afterwards he was still on slicks the daft bugger! Inters were useless, and I took them a lap too late. I think TG was gonna take me but pitted a bit too early? Eitherway I managed to make staying out pay off by being brave, but it just got stupid wet really fast lol.
my race was very up and down...actually down then up!
bad qualy, had NO grip from my primes ist try..make a few subtle changes for more grip...worse! so there's qualy gone, 7th place with a 40.8
race: if only i could sell wheelspin 'cause i've got alot of it. so drop back at the start, clean through turns 2,3,4 however i see tgwulfn in the wall...oh dear!! because of the 69% chance of HEAVY RAIN i decide to adjust my brakes and afew other little things to a wet setup so as when it comes i'm not locking up everywhere and i don't "spin spin spin"...but in the dry my car doesn't want to stop!!
really really struggling for the first 10 laps until the fuel goes away. middle race was doing laps on my own mostly, waiting to get onto those sticky options on lap 20. then it starts to spit as i am getting ready to pit...so i stay out, my primes are only yellow...another lap...another lap...another lap and yes it's raining pretty heavy now so i pit for full wets without about 5 to go? fly home for 2nd, passing marine on the last lap? had lots of fun, thx devil for hosting, tgwulfn for organizing and e'one for clean racing from my point of view. i just wish for once i could get a clean getaway and maybe lead a race 1st lap. something to aspire to

lets go racing this weekend!! im probably going to get a driving force gt this weekend (via ebizzle). i dont have a headset though, ill have a look at the funds situation and maybe i could grab one, otherwise ill just listen in to you guys. 50% would be perfect i think, dont want to totally take over my weekend with f1 so i'd be happy to do that. with regards to scoring system that should be easy, we can put it up in this thread. e.g. Standings as of Melbourne: Dylan 50 points (and the smack talk begins). i could do it if i had all the finishing positions.
Yeah Jake and I had a good duel at Melbourne, you had my number on a couple of other tracks though like hockenheim which i thought i was good at. has anyone noticed that when they try a setup from the setups area and then compare it to the default far right setting that it isnt as fast? is it my driving style? btw sam, did you want to do the full race calendar? if so, i gotta get some practice in on kl, china, korea, singapore, etc.

OK, so I was racing online to kill a bit of time and got the Virgin. As I was racing against randoms I obviously got shunted into the wall on the first corner (Monte Carlo btw). After quitting out and returning to the paddock, what should I see!? Virgin pit girls, in my McLaren paddock. So obviously it was a glitch, but this is what I think really happened.
David has obviously asked his pit girls to gather some information. I am shocked at these spying tactics and demand an immediate investigation. They were so obvious about it as well, peeking over Jensons shoulder as he's going through data with his engineer.
And also, David, where on earth are my pit girls!? If you've got them tied to a chair in the back of the virgin garage 'extracting' information from them I will be most displeased. If you have them could you please return them, as they're an integral part of my race preparation, hehe.
And with that, I confirm.

An extremely lonely race for me.
Quali on pole, lap was ok, but nothing more.
Had an ok start, got through the first corners without any trouble, and from then on there wasn't much going on.

Quali was good. I'd had a race earlier and although the conditions were a bit brighter got a 1.39.3 so was hoping for something around there, not too disappointed with a 1.39.8 which I think is decent for primes. Qualified second so I thought chances of a clean run through the first lap was high. Moved to the outside to follow Daggy through then got hit and pushed into the wall, making my front wing orange. Came out in last place, set front wing to high.
Devil dropped behind me and then pushed me hard thereafter. He was all over me and a mistake out of 13 from me gave him better traction down the straight and into the hairpin he was through. I was just hanging on his coat-tails and got a bit of fortune as a similar move on misoch had the latter run wide through the hairpin which I was able to take advantage from by taking it tight. Then we came up behind mattie with devil pressing him hard again. I didn't know exactly what happened but devil dropped behind me again, and I was then able to pass mattie.
After this I was not able to get ahead, and a small mistake under traction off the bridge had mattie pressing me hard down the long straight. I moved to the inside to cover and thought I'd done enough when mattie's ghosted car goes through me, and then materialises throwing me into the wall on the right, destroying my front wing. As 12 laps had passed and I needed to pit I switched to a prime-option-option strategy. The options were good and I set about making up some time, but the pit crew took 18.5s so I was well out of the race at this point.
On lap 21 my tyres were down to the bone and it had just started raining - not heavily enough to want to switch at that point but I had to get off the ones I was on. I knew I couldn't go full wets so went on to inters. I was also having to be careful not to wear them out too quickly as the rain at this point was so light it wasn't settling. A few laps later the rain got really heavy, and my inters were now pretty worn, so it was a case of just crawling around doing my best.
Honestly I'm completely fed up of online racing now.

Definitely keep the damage on.. what will be will be.. part of the fun is knowing that errors are costly. I am not even sure what effect losing the ABS and TC will have to be honest as I can't remember being any quicker with them on lol
@Chris.. it's coming mate... i'll be banging on about a fully unassisted race soon so get going on that manual shifting practice.. it's much more fun and as Jean has mentioned in 2011 it looks like assists will be penalised so you have been warned
