:( Was DSQ due to corner cutting.

Qualified on primes as 4th, could have beenhalf second quicker, but due to fuel problems had to go in.

Race start was not spo good and lost a spot. Had some nice close battle with Andrew, but when he went in for some fresh full wets(?) was driving mostly alone.
My carsetup was far from ideal (2nd online ever here). Was sliding all over the place. My race ended like this:

I cut 1 corner too much I guess... :(

My wheel of choice was also a G27... I have had mine a little over 6 months, and i really love the feel of it. It gives great feedback and a real sense of feel for the car...
Have been driving without assist for about 2-3 weeks, except for the driving line in the corners(because I cant remember my braking points yet).
I find the biggest challenge is the throttle control on the corner exits, and having a heavy foot(like me) it is not easy avoiding the spins:tongue:.
But it is getting better with practice practice and more practice:good:

So I wanted to get in on this race because Bahrain is one of my favourite tracks. That's right Bahrain. So I get home from work and spend an hour and a half practicing and tweaking my setup. So it was with some confusion and then amusement that I saw we were on a completely different track.

Qualified 5th on primes. Got a good start and was up close to Andrew who was also close on the leader, both of us moving to the left I followed him through. There was some argy bargy ahead from Dion and I managed to slip through without hitting anything to be in second by the long straight. With Dion behind on options and Andrew on the same track I knew it was only a matter of time before I was under pressure, but it's not the easiest place to overtake and my straight line speed was good.

Of course I didn't figure for Dion being so damn reckless. I went a little wide on the penultimate corner and he must have nailed it right into me. However he'd gone too hard so went wide at the next corner and I got back ahead. Again I went a bit wide on the first corner and he dived up the inside but at an angle and speed that he definitely knew he could not take the corner at, so he gets ahead by all of a sudden appearing right in front of me from nowhere and then wham I slam into the back of him and I get a penalty for it!! Drive 2 more laps making small errors because I'm pissed off and then take my drive through.

I come out behind joempie who is having some difficulties and I manage to catch up to him quickly. But not being someone that just forces my way through physically I end up on his tail for a few laps without an opportunity to make a clean pass. In this time Andrew who is again behind me starts to hunt me down and is only a couple seconds behind. Joempie then gets the early windy section all wrong, but instead of easing off keeps his foot on the throttle running wide and starting to bump. Of course I'm now in the perfect position for his out of control car to hit me into the side barrier, damaging my front wing.

I try to carry on, as it's only lap 11 or so, but I'm losig so much time I knew I had to pit. Andrew catches me at the end of the first long straight and makes a nice move to get better traction at the exit to drag race me down to the next corner. I think my top speed is a little better as he's unable to make a clean pass, but I cock it up locking my front brakes and sliding in front of him. Really sorry about that mistake Andrew, just glad I didn't hit you! I ran wide and as the only way I would have stayed in front was to have left the track I cede the position.

So I pit onto options and decide to put some flying laps in. Pretty much on my own now. Then I lose focus completely at my second pit stop and don't put the lane limiter on quickly enough to pick up my second drive through. Overall pretty pleased to have only finished 55s off the lead considering all the time I lost.

I would have to say tho Dion your wrecklessness ruined my race. I hope you don't continue with that attitude. So sad when people put winning ahead of driving cleanly.

Uuh, I did not at all feel I was being agressive with you. I only fought you for.. half a lap .. ? I do remember finding you quite slow, so perhaps I unconsciously got agressive or anything.
If you have any footage I can comment. I don't remember any of that at all. I can imagine that sounding very frustrating for you. Honestly I don't want to ruin anyone's race, so I here by apologise.

Still, footage would be great, I must be visually confronted with my driving if I want to change it, right? Perhaps Andrew recorded this?

It was one of my worse races, and a top of that I had to drive the Force India with it's horrible pit bug. To make matters worse, I got a very stuipid drive through.

Well, good race to get to know the track a little bit, it was fairly new to me. I had some great (fair!!) racing with InsideMattie, which I greatly enjoyed, and so did he, I believe. I did get stuck behind him too for many laps, not at all forcing my way past him physically.....

Thanks for letting me fill up the last spot guys!

EDIT: @ WULFYN: I started on primes, not on options

Okay, Quali went pretty "good", but than Andrew sent Dion a message: "not bad for full wets". He did 1,42,3-- and I did 1,41,4--. As I was on skype with Dion, Dion said to me that andrew was on full wets, I really felt like a noob. I was only one second faster!

Than the race. I had a good start, and Dion ****ed it up, I guess. So I took first place thanks to Dion for not diving into the inside. Then I made a gap to wulfyn, as Dion had lost 2 places at the start. But then Dion reduced the gap to 0,5 seconds( I was making many misstakes). We had a fair fight for about 4 laps, each laps we lost about 3 seconds, but at the end Dion got in front of me. Then he got a penalty for corner cutting, and he came behind me again. From that moment I made tooooooooooooooooooooooo many mistakes. So was Dion, so the gap remains 10 seconds. Meanwhile Andrew switched to options, so i guess he was catching us very fast.

In lap 18 I switched to options. Dion and andrew( he did his second pitstop) stopped one lap earlier, but Dion had the force india bug so he lost about 10 seconds. When I got out I had a gap of ????( I couldn't see it) seconds. Than I had a penalty for corner cutting. got a gap of 8 seconds to Dion when I came out. From then on I started to make just more misstakes. Dion and Andrew easily passed me. Than Andrew made a little mistake, I came up into the inside of him( I thought). But I hit andrew's left rear tyre so andrew spun. But I let him pass again( sorry andrew).

In the end I finished 3rd. I think I had my worst race ever.

Gratz to Dion and Andrew on their podium finish

The stewards determine that the right course of action would have been
a) return to the track safely without compromising the line of any other car and avoiding contact at all costs; and
b) when having made contact with a car in front, the car behind yields and does not attempt to profit from the contact.
For these reasons the stewards have decided to disqualify BendingUnt1tled from the Montreal race.

Christian Schoeler

For sure this was the right thing to do. So bendingun1tled didn't. Can you really get disqualified for that? I mean if I bump into someone's ass, get in front of him and after it don't let him pass again, do I get disqualified?

In f1 you won't be disqualified for what bendingun1itled did. Can't you just give him a penalty for unsporting behaviour which means 20 second time penalty?

I don't want to whine or whatever, but this is very strict.

I was a fun race! first time playing with people that doesn't crash to you! :D
I get 6th, I crash many time, my set-up was horrible and I made a big mistake and everything went wrong after that.
But my first race hope to get in better position, also using a gamepad is not as fun as using a wheel :p
And never had race a wet race before :S.
Hope to see you next thursday!

Guys, a bit of bad news released by the Virgin Racing Team. It appears their driver (me) will not appear at the race in Valencia next weekend, citing family reasons... It's an annual family thing, I have no control over it and have to attend. Really frustrating timing, but out of my control. Another track I felt I would be strong at, too. :(

cheers m8. it was a bad crash...i hurt my right big toe, left pinky finger and my pride...
the cause?? it was a combination of your pressure, me thinking about you and not the upcoming corner (as you can see i completely miss the apex by a LONG way) and primes going away. oh well, i learnt some things! it was alot of fun, ALOT of fun!
i just can't wait for f1 2011 with the pirelli tyres...2-5 pit stops etc...that is going to be awesome!!

this will be the last reply on the matter then drop it.

Yes it is Strict, we have to be strict m8, at the end of the day we all come on to play and have fun, Driving with others you expect their to be very clean driving, alot of time and ivnestment is spent into this, people dropping of work early, ignoring their kids and wifes for a while, alot of time practicing, only to have a driver who has "admitted" he drive's aggressive does not help the cause, he had the option to avoid this incident it never happened.

the stewards have made their decison, please respect it and leave the matter as it is now.

Valencia Threads will be up tommorow guy's.

Thanks.

bad luck joempie :-(
wow, it looks like an awesome track! can't wait to learn it. thx to those who 'invited' me to it last minute tonight but as i said i have never done a single lap on it. going on the talk so far about the race, there seems to be alot of penalties for corner cutting going on...what's wrong boys, can't stay between the BIG blue lines haha... :))
