I've done that change in my mod, it changes the ability of each AI driver in qualifying. For example, Alonso is always qualifying around 6-8th in my mod.

It's in the database somewhere but I can't remember exactly which tab it is in. Have a closer look around I'm sure you'll eventually find it

I thought i wasn't so stupid but i can't find it, i looked everywhere, in ai_driver, f1drivers, f1teams, f1driver_f1 teams etc... nothing, don't you remeber where it is?

AI fake qualifying ability I think it's in the F1 drivers tab.

But even given that, my mod putss Ferrari in a lower tier than Williams and Red Bull, so that may have something to do with it as well.

Oh ok, but fake quailfying ability changes the times that AI does when you skip or speed up a session but maybe i can work on it, thank you anyway

F1 2014 Doesn’t Start in Full Screen
There are some games that might not start in full screen like F1 2014. If that’s the case with you, try pressing Alt+Enter.

I found this text on the internet and it works (also thanks to bonnejv). But why this happens after so many hours playing F1 2014 without this problem I really don't understand. It only happens after a computer restart. I can live with this bug, but I just want to know WHY So, just one round up to see if someone knows the final solution...

Did you edit the hardwaresettings.xml and marked it as read-only? (you know, the change for the mirrors)
If yes, untick it, set the game as it should be (full screen, graphics etc.) check if the edited things are still there* or gone**

* if yes, keep the file as it is
** if not, edit the mirrors parts again and mark it as read-only again

Might be read-only was only necessary for the datalogger, I just kept it this way.

I did all you said, and, even installed Steam & F1 2014 again. Still the same problem. Very weird. Even when I mark the hardwaresettings file as read only, still the game starts in windowed mode. So Alt+Enter works as a temporarily solution. But I want the final one

I discover when I restart the game in offline mode, the game starts normal. So in offline mode there is NO windowed mode . But I want to be online, so Steam is the problem after all?

change fullscreen="false" to fullscreen="true" and save the file & re-run the game

If you haven't checked that one. Some had this issue last year. Oh and some had this issue with NVidia, the game didn't run at fullscreen and only with 59Hz

Hi ParkYongLee, I did that several times. But even with your solutions the game starts in windowed mode. I have a AMD card; MSI R9 290 Gaming 4G. And I changed my resolution to 59Hz, also no solution. But even so, I never had any problem until today. Only offline modus (Steam) works like a charm. So there is some connection with Steam regarding this problem.

For some reason Stream won't let me turn off updates for my games, so I can't get any mods for my game. Is their a way around this?

Why you can't get mods for your game just because steam updates it?

Yes, there is a way around it > start steam offline mode in general while having "only update game when active" (or so). I miss the times where one was able to never do updates ... no, wait, I miss the times before steam (uplay, origin, gfwl) chains.

I was wondering if someone could possibly point me in the right direction to fix the wheel display for modded wheels? My displays for Merc, Saub, Ferrari and Lotus are blank. Just asking if there is a fix before I have to reinstall the game. Thanks in advance !

do any of you guys know what codemasters did to make the car hold gears?

like in 2013, if u shift up earlier, it would shift back down. but in f1 2014 it doesnt. im trying to get this to work on f1 2013.

I'd say on a common 24"-27" screen with typical 1080p full HD resolution HD is fine enough. But if you've got a much bigger screen (not speaking about a TV that's several meteres far away from you) and/or are running the game on even higher resolutions DHD comes in handy.
Well, if you've got the hardware power to spend on DHD anyway, you could use it then, too. It's a matter of sharpness of the cars' liveries.

Maybe you've ever seen a video showing a game in full HD and a game that was downsampled from ultra HD to full HD. The ultra HD will look much sharper on a lower resolution. (same usually goes for any picture).

I want to use the 2014 steering wheels in 2013. Is that possible. Only changing the interior-folder doesn´t work.

Problem solved! Steam update themself just a moment ago and voila! No windowed mode anymore
