Demy, I just installed your mod on 50% tyre scaling and did a 25% race in Melbourne with tyre scaling. The only changes I made to your database were moving the safety car chance to 1 for all tracks and maximum safety car deployment to 4 for all tracks.

My feedback:
  • AI are more aggressive and faster, but still run into you from behind a lot, even when trying to overtake you just out of the exit to a corner (see my video below as the example).
  • Tyre scaling was 100% spot on, and I could barely hold out for a 1 stop strategy in Melbourne of Options 5 laps, Primes 10 laps (see image below of last lap on my primes). Some cars like the Toro Rosso's did 2 stop strategys, others did 1.
  • DNFs - there were 5 DNFs in total to mechanical problems (including both Red Bulls:confused: ), but a red flag on second corner of lap 1 retired six cars in first lap, and 1 more car had a terminal accident on lap 1 of restart. Plus 2 times during the race other cars retired due to accidents with other drivers or maybe tyre wear?? , leaving a 9 car finish to the race :giggle::O_o:. Definitely the most eventful 25% race I've had so far in this game, with a red flag and many accidents due to mistakes and retirements. Shame no SC was ever deployed though, that would have topped off something really brilliant, but I guess you can't get them all. I'll talk more about that in the safety car fix thread, but I believe it is much harder to bring out safety car with just AI crashes with other AI, and much easier to bring it out if the player causes the AI car to crash. Tyre wear may be causing more accidents, but I did see the AI make a few mistakes too which caused accidents as well.
Below are my screen shots and a video I made in the game showing how Hamilton rammed up my rear end exiting a corner obviously not knowing I was there .
And first time I've seen a Toro Rosso win a race:roflmao:. Got a 20 second penalty that put me down from podium finish to 4th:mad:

I can't find out what causes the AI to ran into the back of other when there is a crash, they simply just pile up.

On your video above you went kind of slow through that corner? Which may have caused it.
Anyway, the result screen looks ridiculous :p
I dont get it how this start crash could've happened? AI w/o player doesnt cause these crashes so maybe I need to look for "AI distance to player" to change some values.

But if I change these values back to normal, the overtaking and aggression wil decrease. This mod works best with legend and no variety in player's driving.

Oh and ofcourse, very nice feedback man will look into your problems when I have time.

Richard Contardi Yes, you can. ;)

Hill, yes just change the values aggression will be the same

Blakx, Blame CM for that, I can try to improve this but CM made it this way. And of course Brazil is a small track

thanks guys, but how did they retire?
did they crash or mech failure? and does this happen on more tracks?

I will share my experience from yesterday. I changed values of SC mod in your database and installed 50% distance. Raced at Canada, 50%, Legend AI, started last. At lap 3 there was accident 4-5 cars and SC came out in lap 4. In lap 5 we got red flag(my first red flag in game):). On restart I was 4th, but in lap 8 another 3-4 car accident called for SC. And then in lap 10 I got another red flag. Few more cars dropped off(mechanic fail) and there were 9 finishers. And in all tracks I can't get pit stop strategy before race, but in race AI and me are doing more stops.
I changed SC values in your mod to SC mod values. Could that be reason of getting all this trouble?

I just modded the files a bit and this is what I get on 25%
The weird standings is due pitstops, cuz someone like hamilton mght have needed to wait very long until all other cars went past. Because I held them all up. DNF's were both technical
I will upload video later.

Should I upload my progression?

1.8.2 - 1.8.2

Small adjustment has been made for the AI, hope they dont crash a lot anymore

OK, I took a good 5 hours out of my night to play some more quick races with this mod. All 25% races, no qualifying, straight in to race.

I raced on Monaco, Montreal, Valencia, Hockenheim, Monza, Abu Dhabi, Texas and Interlagos.

On all tracks there were 7 or more DNFs, except in Texas, where 21 cars finished and 3 DNFs. Sometimes you look at the race director and you see 2 or 3 or 4 cars retire all at the same time, then as you are driving you see a few wings and some car parts on the track, so you know it was caused by a big accident. Other times you will see that cars are crashing the lap before their pit stop when you compare this to the race director, which could mean the AI is having trouble with the high tyre wear. Then there is the odd mechanical failure here and there, mainly from the teams you would expect to have them HRTs and Caterhams. So, apart from the result at texas where only 3 cars were DNF, something is just not balanced correctly.

Stranger things happened in Monaco with 2 different SC periods and a red flag, but very bizzarely, I actually got a SC there on lap 3:confused: , which I took a screenshot and will post it in the SC fix thread, hoping to get a good explanation for this. So much for the theory that you cannot get a SC before lap 4! Also, then got a red flag on lap 5, then another SC on lap 6.

Some good things about this mod that I also saw - there were 2 occassions were I saw the AI make a mistake and go off the track, but they did not wait for all the other cars to go past, they merged back right in front of me. Also, when the AI were racing ahead of me, it was clear that they were more attacking with each other, constantly attempting to overtake each other, which is good. Could this dramatic increase in AI aggression be causing all these accidents and DNFs each race? Maybe.

EDIT: Just saw your update to the mod in the previous post, I will try this update over the weekend when I can spare some more time again for testing.

just let you no i was doing practice in Malaysia and as i was going round the track i saw patches of car bits broken off in loads different spots round the track and then up the back straight grojan drove straight in to the back of a hrt n then alonso drove in back of them but thats on 1.8 so now gonna download 1.8.2 and test that

I simply don't see the crashing from all the ai.

The ai are def loads more aggressive when overtaking.

Does anyone here notice that the ai in Korea are super strong? It's like you have no grip around there.

I did some races at other tracks on the same difficulty and it's ok.

To those posters here who mentioned they are geting a lot of DNFs and accidents in their races using this mod, like I am. Are you using the SC mods with this as well? And if you are, are you getting any SC deployments after these plenty of AI accidents using this mod version 1.8? I've only seen the safety car two times at Monaco and every race I've done with the version 1.8 of this mod there have been more than 7 cars DNF, except for texas where there were only 3 DNFs, but only 2 safety cars at Monaco. It does not make any sense to me.

How about the other guys using version 1.8 of this mod and using the SC mods, are you getting a lot of Safety cars with these accidents that are happening?

I think there is one thing that causes problems but i dont know how to fixthis yet. Its that Ai cars run into an already crashed car and they just pile-up with no brains. Like dejanibanez shows.

But this happens without my mod too

Still, I have no idea why people have these failures in their games? I dont have them at all but maybe its me.
It seems hill doesnt have them either

Please guys make a video of a couple of laps. (the people with a lot of DNF's)
