Now it is truly epic... the EnduRacers modding team have released an updated version of the Endurance Series modification for rFactor 2, adding new physics values and DX11 compatibility.

Coming about following the recent rFactor 2 DX11 build release, EnduRacers and the Gentlemen Modding Team have been hard at working bringing a number of improvements to the already impressive endurance mod for rFactor 2. Benefitting from all the visual goodies available in rFactor 2 now DX11 has been made public, the mod team have also taken the opportunity to take a second pass at the base physics of the vehicles. With adjustments made to the inertia of the cars and a new baseline setup added the driving experience found within the mod, across all cars, has altered substantially since first release.

Now with a more solid experience felt behind the wheel, and with a more "planted" front end and direction change, these cars feel considerably different than prior to the update (and all the better for it in my opinion).

The mod is used by our premier racing series, the RDLMS by Vesaro, and the league organisers will be taking advantage of the new build and updating to RDLMS car pack to match version 1.50. More on that will be posted to the front page in due course.

The new public build of the Endurance Series mod is available to download and play right now.

V1.50 Change Log:
  • Graphics : Updated bodywork shader to match DX11 update.
  • Graphics : Updated dashboard display devices shader to match DX11 update.
  • Physics : Corrected values of all cars inertia.
  • Physics : Updated defaut setup on all cars.
  • Physics : FFB Upgrades, removed.
Notes from the authors:

EnduRacers Modding Team & Gentlemen Racers are pleased to provide to you the Endurance Series rF2 build 1.50 ! After the recent update of rFactor 2 to the DX11 technology, driver by the new dev team Studio 397, it was necessary to update the mod, specially on the graphic side, in order to enjoy the best possible experience and allow the MOD to take benefits of it. We have updated the bodywork shaders, rims shaders, and cockpit displays (rpm leds or motec devices) shaders.

The team used this opportunity to add in this build a physic update for all the cars, correcting the inertia value. This modification has driven an update of all cars default setups, so please be careful with your current setups before making some feedbacks.

Don't forget to read carefully the instructions to install and setup correctly the mod. Be careful, the mod is big, reaching more than 3Gb now.

rFactor 2 is a racing simulation exclusive to PC. You can purchase the game directly from Steam with immediate effect. The EnduRacers V1.50 Endurance Series mod is available to download via the Steam Workshop.

I want to say thank you very much for your phenomenal mod. I tested the cars in the GTE Class at "LongBeach14" and you guys done such an amazing job with the physics that you really can handle a slide with precision. All 5 car's laps times are so close to one another that you could swear they were using the same identical physics even though you know they are very different. The handling of these cars feel realistic and believable!

Such a wonderful contribution to our sim community. :)

can anyone answer me this: is the new version 1.50 compatible with the 1.0 version? I updated the mod manually to version 1.5.. can i play in a server with the 1.0 version?
thank you!

One of rF2's features that's not often discussed is the ability to have multiple versions of cars/tracks. So, if the builders of Enduracers mod did their homework correctly, then you can have both versions of the mod.

If you're subscribed to the Steam workshop, then those updates will remove the old version automatically. There are a few exceptions, I believe, such as if you had joined a server using the old version and haven't deleted their race, then the old version should remain intact.

If you only have v1.5, join a v1.0 server AND the v1.0 server admin properly configured GetMod, then v1.0 will automatically download.

Too many people complain about rF2's packaging system without understanding the benefits. It is a far better system than what AC or the original rFactor have, but there's a cost in the complexity for server admins. Players, on the other hand, benefit greatly. The big hope is that Studio 397 can hide the complexity from even server admins (and especially proponents of "quick race" servers, people who don't use the dedicated server).
