I do not think that is the point, it's about producing a showcase for technology which, if you have ever stood next to an eight lane road at rushhour, simply makes so much sense. I for one am charmed by the whoosh of a tesla passing me as a cycle through the city. as for using only carbon free fuel to run the whole series, that will probably take a good while longer but i doubt whether it is not on the organizers to do list. it's all about setting an example. if racing were only about the sound, noone would watch any form of racing involving little to no sound (e.g. horse racing, bicycles, runners ...) Racing is about competition and figuring out who comes first, isn't it?Do you really believe the relatively small pollution output from any and all motorsport events is damaging the world?
You need series like these to develop electrical cars, batteries and so on. If you don't like the sound, don't watch. But really, how much noise does your tv or pc creates when you watch a race? Do you set the volume on 10?Do you really believe the relatively small pollution output from any and all motorsport events is damaging the world? Compared to industry, general car traffic, buses, trucks, diesel trains, diesel generators, aircraft, ships and 3rd world country ignorance. The miniscule pollution from race cars and bikes is nothing. It would probably not even register anywhere.
Ecars and other forms of Electric transport are just that, transport for commuting. In my opinion.
I say keep on using petrol and the combustion engine until we run out of oil and then it won't matter anyway because the whole world will go to rat **** then. In fact as soon as we reach "peak oil" we will be stuffed. So make the most of it now I say.

Come on man.... next thing you´ll tell me is that are no tooth fairy, right?Motorsport producing tech for street cars has been myth for some decades already... just saying
No we don't.You need series like these to develop electrical cars, batteries and so on.

Think of all the new power stations we need to build to charge all these environmentally friendly electric cars.
Drivers, tweet your feelingsI guess I'm just too old school. For anyone that's ever been to a race or has owned a muscle car, there is nothing that can replace the sound and feeling of massive horsepower. The roar of the engine feeds the adrenaline. I can't imagine the track announcer saying, "Drivers start your batteries." No, no, no...just no!
I don't need that modern stuff..... Old school Version 2.0 here......

Care to elaborate more? No, not really...Personally I think electric cars are a massive folly both on and off the racetrack.
