Welcome to the DTM World Cup, this is for licenced members only and will follow the official RD rules.

Cars: DTM German Touring Cars (A4 DTM, C-Class DTM, ABT TT-R, Astra V8)
Assists:
TCS (Traction control system): Banned
ABS (Anti-lock braking): Banned
STM (Stability Management): Banned
Racing/brake line: Allowed
Gearbox: Auto, Manual, Manual with Clutch: Allowed

Upgrades: All Cars up to R2 875
Setup: Allowed

Drivers: 16 Max allowed

  • Race meetings will consist of a qualifying session and feature race that consists of a number of laps aimed to be approximately 55 minutes in length with four longer endurance races of an 85 minute length mixed in.
  • Races will be awarded points as per BTCC system with winner scoring 20 points. Clarification below.
  • On normal feature races each player will be required to make at least one pit-stop with two pit-stops required for endurance races.
  • Pole-sitter scores an extra point.
  • Lobby will open at 8.15pm (UK Time) to allow for any connection issues.
  • Qualifying begins promptly at 8.30 (UK) - anyone not joining in time will be able to start from the back of the grid.
  • Qualifying is a 5 lap race with 10 second gap between starts, winner is best certified time.
  • Damage will be off for this series as Forza has incorrectly modelled the penalty on aero for these cars, however extra attention will be paid to people who treat their and other peoples' cars as anything but the beautiful and fragile machines that they are.
  • There will be a Teams' Championship in addition to the Drivers' Championship. There is also a prize fund for each championship with a minimum of 10 million XP in each kitty. Prizes for Teams' Championship are shared equally between both teammates.
  • Events are bi-weekly on Monday nights.
  • There will be a stewards' room and this will be manned by the 1st, 8th, and last placed points scorers based on the previous round's standings. If any of these people are one of the drivers under investigation the next position down (or ahead in the case of the last placed person) will assume stewardship for the incident in question. Incidents will be investigated upon referral to the Stewards Room thread. If your defence in a situation is that you did not see a car in your blind spot it is imperative that you save the replay so the stewards can examine your in-car view.
  • There is a success ballast in this series where the top 4 drivers in the overall championship table will run with -5% grip for both races and qualifying.
  • For the Driver's championship standings there will be two drop rounds where your two worst results from the season will be removed. This can serve to alleviate having to miss rounds due to other commitments or to forgive you for bad results in a long season.

Qualifying Report/Starting Position - 6th
Race Report - Was dreading this, Had changed my car, realised the setup I had was shite during the first attempt at the race (I knew this, as no matter how hard I tried, I could not break into the 1:23's), so at the restart I swung the dice on another setup that I had, the change was big, and although the setup didn't quite fit the circuit, it was streets ahead of the one I had on. Managed to Run P3 for about a 1/3rd of the race and thought 'podium, seriously??' then realised Bradley was catching me easilly, got passed and then it was a case of settling in for the next 20 laps driving around waiting for the finish really. Finished with a Time of 1:22:7 which was about 1.5 seconds quicker than my last setups time.
Round Summary - Feared the worst coming in, It was confirmed to me in the first race attempt, swung the dice and due to the small grid rather than my skill I ended up with a 4th place finish, and some nice points. Got to get better though, hopefully the next track is one im better at :)
 
Round -6 Laguna Seca
Qualifying Report/Starting Position - 7th, just couldn't get a fast clean lap.
Race Report - I had a really good start, and was up to 4th by the first corner, then a lap later, I past Tom. After that I set off for Dan and Chris, and in my opinion was holding on pretty well, then Andrew went, followed by Dan a couple of laps later. For the race restart, I was in 5th, dirty tactics from Tom there! ;). Again I had a good start and gained a couple of places and was behind Tom, I went for a move and it almost payed off, but he got back on the exit and there was a little bit of contact that put me in the gravel, and lost about 500 ft. Then I was pushing hard to try and make it back up, and was soon on his rear wing again, but I put too much power down on the exit of turn 2 and spun it, which put me back in last, but Wayne looked like he was really struggling with his set-up, and was on the back of him going up to the corkscrew, I don't think he know I was there, because on the next corner, I was on the outside, there was contact and he spun. I felt guilty, and because I'm such a nice person, I waited for him.:barefoot: After re-passing him properly, I set off after the next car and got past him too. Then the pit=stops started to happen, and my plan was to stay out as long as possible to gain back ground, but Ryan put an end to those hopes, by coming out behind me, which makes my drive very inconsistent, so I pitted, and from then on, I think I drove the best I ever Tom, and with my amazing maths head, worked out yo close a 15 second lap with 15 laps left, I'd need to average 1 second a lap faster, :coffee: I know right, stand back in amazement! I really put my head down and 4 laps from the end, I was on his wing, but for the next few laps, I just couldn't get past, and ended up in 3rd :thumbsup:
Round Summary - Probably my most enjoyable race I've had on here so far, it was so nice to be the hunter for once, and not the hunted, I'm so glad the race was restarted, even though I finished a place lower, it was worth it. I think my true race pace today I should have been 2nd, but I could give a damn! Now to find a way of getting this bloody cramp out of my hand!!!
